I dont understand the original commentors point because he seems disappointed that he didnt fight duke fishron before you're supposed to fight him. I mean i get that there isnt really a "supposed to" in terraria, its a very sandboxy game but like my point still stands.

You should have done the exit without saving trick, smash a demon altar, and if you get cobalt, mythril and/or adamantite, just exit without saving, then repeat until you get palladium, orichalcum AND titanium, simple!

plz don't get optic staff, 1. the twins are annoyingly slow so half the time they don't even hit 2. they cause invincibility frames and that's just B A D 3. use it instead on the magical harp/rainbow rod which are way better

Blade staff and Spider staff work really well if you have armor penetration accessories (ie. Sharktooth necklace and it's upgrade) also they're just easier to obtain :)

[Toast] optic staff is ideal for destroyer, spiders are worse than optic plus with 1.4 minions have their own i frames so you can still hit enemies even if your minions are attacking. And blade staff is good but it’s way to hard to get when you could get sanguine staff which is better than all staffs that I mentioned.
