Nora Roberts has written seemingly hundreds of books, lots of paranormal romance, romantic thrillers and plain old romance. I love her thrillers ones, my faves are Obsession and Whiskey Cove. I’ve re-read both as comfort reading several times!

Nora Roberts The Obsession is the perfect blend of romance and thriller. It was my first book by here and I loved it!

For a romance/thriller, I've really liked Kathleen Brooks' Bluegrass & Forever Bluegrass series. They lean more romance/suspense but are fun reads that have a strong female lead who are really involved in solving the mystery/crime. Forever Guarded and Forever Notorious are a few of my faves. Some are better than others but overall I really like the fast pace, charming small town, and the right level of danger Brooks injects into the stories.

From your thriller kick, I think you may really like The Sanatorium. It's a psychological gothic thriller that takes place in a remote Swiss hotel that was an abandoned sanatorium. The lead is a former detective there to celebrate her brother's engagement but then there's an avalanche and people start going missing.

Nora Roberts is great for romantic suspense! Others I've read and enjoyed are Linda Howard (Mr. Perfect, Dying to Please) and Sandra Brown (Chill Factor, White Hot).

Seven books in seven days video? Yes please!
@maryjohnson62963 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of a 7 books in 7 days vlog. I have read a lot of Nora Roberts but not that particular book, I've read several of her paranormal romance trilogies and all of the books in her In Death mystery series, as well as the occasional romantic suspense. The one Ruth Ware book I tried, The Woman in Cabin 10 was a DNF but you made The Turn of the Key sound very intriguing.

To Be Taught if Fortunate is an amazing story. I read it at the end of last year and I still think about it often. I bought a physical copy so I'll definitely read it again soon. I'm sure you'll enjoy it too as it's very character driven like her other stories.

Same! I read it in ebook format a few weeks ago but loved it so much that I bought a phisical copy to reread. Such a fascinating read.

On the topic of thrillers with romance elements, I would highly recommend The One by John Marrs! You have probably heard of it already, but finding your soulmate is the main theme of the book, and it's a very original take on love and relationships. There are several 'love stories' (more or less) going on and it is told from multiple perspectives, although I don't want to say anything more haha

I really enjoyed The Turn of the Key. Definite 4 stat read for me. The Last House Guest sounds intriguing. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. The Murders of Molly Southbourne sounds amazing. What an interesting concept.

I´m so glad Lyndsay Faye has new book out, I really liked her Gods of Gotham-series. And I´m currently listening Caroline Kaufman´s Light Filters In (a poetry collection) and I think it´s fresh and raw and imaginative. Would recommend if you haven´t read it already.

Burn Our Bodies Down is definitely speculative rather than realistic contemporary, I enjoyed it but not as much as Wilder Girls but I feel like Rory Power has such beautiful writing that the prose really carried the story for me. It’s definitely some spooky, creepy stuff though!
