My take: Now THIS is more like it. This is what I was expecting to get when it comes to Organization XIII in KH2. In terms of additional screentime, KH2:FM adds FIVE scenes of extended interaction between the Organization members in their conference room (The Orders, The Plans, The Outcome, The Debate, and The Conclusion), a new scene showing Axel's survival of the prologue much earlier on (3 People on Sunset Hill), a - poorly placed - scene that reveals something new and mysterious about Xemnas (An Old Friend), a - HORRIBLY placed - flashback scene expanding on that and fleshing out Xigbar's character (The Chamber's Secret), and a flashback scene showing how Xemnas found and named Roxas (The New You). And in terms of additional presence in worlds, hoo boy. We get a bonus boss fight with Zexion in the first visit to Olympus Coliseum, with Larxene in the first visit to Port Royal, with Lexaeus in the mid-game return to Twilight Town, with Marluxia in the second visit to Beast's Castle, and with Vexen in the second visit to Agrabah. We get a new mandatory boss battle with Roxas in his Organization XIII garb. We get the Organization-themed XIII Mushroom Heartless scattered throughout various worlds. And we get an optional dungeon within Hollow Bastion that culminates in a secret hallway filled to the brim with Nobodies that leads into the Garden of Assemblage, where a computer can access high-difficulty data versions of EVERY battle with EVERY member of Organization XIII that you can fight all over again, at any time, for as much as you want to. And this, friends, is part of what makes KH2:FM, despite still having flaws, to be the definitive version of KH2.

I always saw Organization 13 and it’s members as the embodiments of what it meant to feel numb. Some people cling on to what they can get to give them that feeling of elation. Something to bring them the feeling of what it was like when they still could feel. For some, it’s anger. For another, it’s exhilaration from taking risks, and for another, it’s being with somebody who makes you feel like you still have a heart. I want there to be a video essay about how each member represents this, and how Xemnas is represented by the will to keep going by carrying responsibility but I have yet to see one.

11:28 is EASILY my favorite scene of all of Organization XIII. From the first time saw it playing KHII back in the day to even now as a grown man, they still so look so damn cool, let alone how cool their piano theme is. I unfortunately played chain of memories AFTER I played KHII. When I did, Organization XIII and the way they operate became just that much cooler. A fantastic antagonist group with so much depth in their design and each of their stories. Good lord, Xehanort is on some next level stuff when it comes to Keyblade wielders.

By "Sora-logic", all members of Organization xiii apart from Axel are evil because they don't have hearts. I find it funny because later in the games, Zexion and the other Ansem's apprentices restored to their original forms after their nobodies killed and some of them become redeemable except Braig and Isa. So some of the members are not pure evil, some of them just want hearts to be..."somebody". Urgh, Sora's cringy cocky attitude is so annoying.

Actually it seemed Ansem’s apprentices became corrupted by Xehanort They helped kidnapped the civilians of Radiant Garden and experimented on them to create the First Emblem Heartless They also helped Xehanort banished Ansem, and let the public believe Xehanort was Ansem as they continued their experiments Then Xehanort turned them and himself into Nobodies, as Radiant Garden fell to the Heartless, becoming Hollow Bastion The reason why the apprentices were redeemable, was because after the destruction of their Heartless and Nobodies, they as humans were purged of darkness It’s why the other apprentices no longer have powers Even allowed himself to be turned into a Nobody again as Vexen. To be a double agent and make right the crimes he did before Isa and Lea seemed to already had dark powers before they were turned, as they were the only ones that had Black Coats when turned human again Lea opened himself to the Darkness to regain his fire and dark powers to help Sora in DDD, as he became a Keyblade Wielder too Isa was turned back into Saïx, as he wanted to find his and Lea’s lost friend, but also was resentful of Lea having friends and moving on Braig, had his own agenda all along So in reality most were redeemed because they were purged of the darkness when their other selves were destroyed, as they were originally far worse back at the fall of Radiant Garden
