Since he knew Saïx was beyond reasoning with, he cut his losses and left the Organization to assist Sora in putting an end to the darkness. Plus, he was getting tired of always getting stuck with the icky jobs.

Xander ????????? actually, this whole confrontation between Vexen and Sora was provoked by Marluxia, remember? Vexen outright said that he sees more value in Riku, not Sora. Marluxia provoked Vexen into testing Sora, but it was an excuse so he could get rid of him. Zexion stated that Vexen despises Marluxia, and wanted to *destroy* Sora out of spite for him. Instead, losing to Sora, Vexen settled for telling Sora the truth as a last "screw you, Marluxia!" Axel put him down before he could, and took advantage of his demise so Larxene and Marluxia would outright say that they were turning on Organization XIII. So technically, Vexen was trying to save Sora, but only because he lost, and it wasn't out of any form of compassion. Vexen just wanted to screw over Marluxia.

When you think about it, Organization 13 still NEEDED Sora for their plans (Xemnas at least) so technically, Vexen could still be considered "a traitor". I doubt the organization would be happy with what Vexen did here. Then again, they had Roxas and then eventually Xion to collect hearts instead so maybe Vexen would've been expendable either way.

Mitchell Paca Riku didn't simply give in to darkness. Sora has a strong heart but Terra and Aqua saw that Riku's was just as strong if not stronger. He was just unfortunate that they were against Xehanort. His plan is almost as old as him if not older because of time travel stuff. Riku barely had any idea what was going on and was lead a stray by Xehanort. I would say that he stood no chance but he somehow overcame it to Xehanort's surprise. He tricked Terra who was a keyblade master in all but name but green horn Riku escaped. Also in 3D the final fight was over Sora who was a sitting duck about to become a Xehanort. I am pretty sure if he got shot by Master Xehanort he wouldn't just break free with friendship.

If the data fights had different movesets in 2 final mix like they did in Re:Mind I wouldn't have been surprised to see Axel do something with that self-destruct for his DM, with the player having to close some distance; perhaps while avoiding bursts of fire that do chip damage but have knockback, in order to use the Fail Safe Reaction Command to end the battle.

You can’t simply remaster a DS game to a PS3, besides, Chain of Memories bridges the story of Sora between KHI and KHII, as much as 358/2 Days is important, since Sora is the protagonist, Chain of Memories has to be more important since it’s his perspective. Besides, Chain of Memories was already remade before the existence of 358/2 Days, so remastering it isn’t as hard as remaking a game from zero like 358/2 Days

Nobodies don't die. They vanish, dim or fade. Can't kill something that isn't actually real. Even Larxene said it, "Am i ... fading?" and Vexen was about to say, "I don't want to d..." dim? And finally, Sora himself said it to Axel, "You're ... fading away." ... ["Not that Nobodies actually HAVE beings, right?"-Axel] Nobodies are just empty shells with borrowed memories. Much like the Heartless live in Darkness and Unversed as fledgling negative emotions (or Dream-eaters in dreams or as 'shades'). Nobodies live in Twilight (in between, or a neutral realm). They don't actually exist, and when defeated, they return back to whence they came. Although it is something to be said, with all the enemies Sora has defeated, he has never once, killed anyone.

Well, they TECHNICALLY didn’t really die, but how could Sora have known that? In his and the Organization’s view, Sora was straight up icing these people for the sake of saving the worlds. It wasn’t until in a later game that we learn that Nobodies can be restored to their original persona.

The way Axel snapped his fingers just seconds before he killed Vexen with fire was both badass and chilling. Especially since he said goodbye to him in a rather casual, almost normal way. Imagine if he snapped half of all universes away with that fingersnap. No doubt he'd be this series' version of Thanos.

Knowing that the line "Tell me why he picked you" in the original japanese version is referring to the Keyblade, that scene makes more sense. By beating Sora, Roxas probably thought he wasn't worthy of the Keyblade anymore and was thus caught off-guard when the Keyblade returned to Sora, meaning it *still* saw him as his wielder.

I find it funny how no one in this series ever really dies. If you just simply turn yourself into a heartless and a nobody on repeat then you are basically immortal. Look at Saix. He "died" in kh2 and then he was reborn as a somebody but then became a nobody again only to "die" again and become a somebody but stay as one this time.

Not every character needs to be a good person from the start. Axel's not like Sora or Kairi or even Roxas. He's not a pure-hearted goody-two-shoes. He's cold and jaded and he needs to relearn how to empathize with other people. In that regard, he's actually a very compelling character. Yes, he's horrible in Re:Chain of Memories, and he does a lot of awful things in Days and II as well, but he's going through a process. In R:CoM he's lost his humanity, he's an emotionless assassin with no real loyalties because as far as he's' concerned, that's who he's supposed to be. Days and KHII show him slowly breaking out of that mold and becoming a better person, and yes, he backslides a few times, but he DOES change. I think by the time DDD rolls around he has genuinely changed for the better.

To be fair, it ties into one of the first interactions he has with Axel. Axel asks Roxas if he wants Ice Cream and says "because it's what friends do." He's basically asking "with Axel at the Castle and you dying, who will be my friend?" And it makes the silliest line in the game that much more powerful.
