Had one exactly like it in the mid 80's and would love to have this one.

That chrome nose band I believe was an option. You should do a video decoding the tag.

How far to go with "survivor's" when detailing ? That question has just frustrated the heck out of me for many years, because I own an all original '69 Charger R/T SE, 440/auto that just turned over 140,000 miles last summer, and I always wanted to touch up and "detail" the under hood but I was afraid to change the originality ? NOT anymore as this year I plan to pull the 440 and rebuild it while it stills runs well before anything like the "Timing Chain" let's go ? Sad... because I will be removing the original Exhaust/H-Pipe etc., etc. probably best to replace them also ? as I can't see putting the 50 yr old exhaust system back on. Any ways.... THANKS for the Video ! Now I don't feel so bad because I still intend to DRIVE mine some more !

Excellent Comment, we appreciate the viewership very much. Yes, the maintenance of a “survivor” is tough, our opinion is that the car needs to run and drive otherwise what’s the point. I agree with your decision to do the maintenance on the R/T. I don’t know if this detail got into any of the future videos, but I can tell you the timing chain on the 318 that was in this car was spent. This saved a possible catastrophic failure down the line.

Do you guys make it down to Carlisle in July?

Josh Williams not sure if I’m going this year. If I do I may go down for the day and back with Ed, who owns this challenger

Beautiful car! Just a thought if your opening the engine why not put a bit of cam in it. Make it a little more fun to drive.nobody will care. Hughes whiplash would wake that low compression 318 up quite a bit.😎

Owen Nikish oh believe me, if it was mine, that cam would be made into artwork and a new Hughes can would be in place!!

It’s a 318, if it was not for them you could of not had the small HP editions.
