This comment is old af but figured I'd reply anyway. There is actually a compelling theory in regards to why Henry acts so dry. It's said he is supposed to represent ADD/Depression symptoms, such as, being easily distracted, unable to stay on task, difficulty following directions, forgetfulness, losing personal items such as keys or books. The character was commentary on modern life of being stuck in a single place with limited contact, aka, one's head. I personally like Henry and it's not like the dialogue is any different than most Silent Hill's before 4, it's just as vague and unsettling.

@@TokioLotus I think Henry is supposed to be Schizoid or Schizotypal. He is a loner, acts awkward in social situations, odd habbits and hobbies, etc..

Dude's been locked out of life, the nightmares, the strange things happening inside his room. Everything must seem really dreamlike and eerie to him. Definitely an introvert too, and his vagueness and lack of character/emotional investment allows the player to step in his shoes since no other SH featured first-person gameplay sequences prior to 4. If he was a more outspoken/extroverted character, the first person sequences wouldn't work nearly as well as they do. "It's all in your head"

The graphics are shite on the terrible PC port, yes. The PS2 original has all the visual effects intact and looks spectacular on my setup, and emulation allows for higher resolutions.
