The fight was supposed to be much longer. The same person who leaked a lot of No Way Home stuff including Green Goblins outfit said about 40 minutes of script was cut. Tom Cruise Iron Man. Nick Cage was Ghost Rider. All of it was in talks but never went through. Disney didn't want any delays again after swapping release dates with No Way Home so cut a lot of the stuff old school fans would've liked.

I don't want to be mean but...he's 82 now, and you could tell by the slight strain in his voice that he's kind of getting up there in years. This isn't like they went back in time and plucked Sir Patrick right as he was filming X-Men 2000 when he was still 59 years old and relatively younger. Being the main MCU timeline Charles Xavier would require him to be a part of these movies for the next decade at least, and I feel like he's put in a LOT of time already as Xavier since he's played the role (on and off again) for over 20 years. This was a fun little bit of fanservice to see him in the 90s yellow hoverchair, but Marvel's definitely going to go for someone in their 50s for MCU Charles so that they're able to stick around.

Xavier is my favorite Marvel character, and I hope Strange finds him in the MCU universe. A Mcavoy version, maybe, with different young actors as his X-Men. I *really* hated how the trailers for this movie spoiled Xavier's cameo. OK technically the trailers didn't actually show him, but you heard his voice in them so to me it was still spoiled. Now, I know the 90's animated series had this, and with the gold wheelchair, and the show's music, this ties into that, but I didn't like it there either. That show is the only one to use these visual telepathic waves for telepathy, and I'd prefer it to be done away with there too.
