Definitely have had this happen. I code 6502 assembly, and cycle specific stuff can matter on quirky systems. Like events that only apply to even or odd frames.

It was my senior year of HS when I realized I didn’t want to go into the coding/IT field. And tbh, I don’t regret it. HS coding was fun and all, but I couldn’t make it a lifelong career.

Those are the people who actually reads all the doc and source code, for newer languages, the official docs are actually very helpful and most of the time would be better than forum posts, you'll also understand what's actually going on. At least that's my experience so far

Some languages aren't strict about semicolons and will run without them but omitting one above your function could have fucked up the definition. Putting a comment in there may have given the interpreter the hint it needed to see the definition.

I'm not in the realm of coding, but amateur game modding. Man is it so satisfying to be the first person to figure out a precise problem that there are tons of forums asking for the solution to. It's only happened to me once but it was so satisfying to go back to all those message boards and post the answer. Maybe eventually I will get into more in depth modding, I actually like the challenge sometimes even more than playing the actual games.

XD You know that feeling of your heart dropping into your shoes because you tested the damn thing to perfection ten minutes ago and IT WORKED, then you go into the demo meeting and it suddenly starts spewing out absolute nonsense because when you compiled it after the test it didn't show that there was one tiny line of code that had a function in it that was typed wrong since you graised the spacebar whilst hitting ctrl s saving it and therefore it borked up the entire demo!!! The horror....
