The Jackie Chan Adventures game on the PS2 was a fun 3D Platformer. Shrek Superslam is a fun arena brawler similar to Power Stone that's managed to develop it's own competitive scene. The Thing was a really good horror shooter that had a trust system and squadmates who can become infected which I don't think any games have done since or at least not as well.

Great video and some awesome games. I have really fun memories of playing Simpsons Hit and Run when it came out, such an awesome game! Same as Starsky and Hutch and Samurai Jack.

Hit and Run is fantastic. An example of everything that licensed games could do right in this console generation. Many of these I do not even think I remember seeing on my store rental shelf (was still renting regularly for PS2, Cube AND the good ol GBA) - but I clearly missed out on some goodies!

Also, Def Jam Vendetta...the best wrestling game on the 6th gen! Simpsons Hit & Run really is so damn awesome. I need to do a review for that on my channel one day haha. Awesome video as always man!

I distinctly remember coming across MLB Power Pros (but for the Wii), along with Starsky & Hutch for PS2 for dirt cheap at Goodwill...and I passed on both of them. Damn it! 😅 I'll remember for next time, thanks for the recommendations!

I really really really want to play Simpsons hit and run mostly for the nostalgia of the show and I think it would be fun just going through the environment and exploring it. We often agree with you Jay, but Hulk might be one of those that was better back in the day than it is now but to each their own. Certainly not a terrible game just not a game that hold up as well now.

So I never played Simpsons Hit and Run but I had Simpsons Road Rage and I LOVED IT. It's a Crazy Taxi clone but at the time I didn't even know what CrazyTaxi was. I would remember all best routes and short cuts. It might be the first game I ever beat %100. If it had "Achievements" back in the day I would have had them all 😂.

I never knew there was an ultimate muscle game on the ps2. I'll have to try that now, it looks awesome. I enjoyed the one on GameCube and wish I never got rid of it bc its really expensive now. The Incredible Hulk UD was so much fun! And it was a great anger and stress reliever lol. Most of these games on this list, I've never played but I'm going to give them a try now bc they look great

Gen 6 consoles had so many great licensed games. Simpsons Hit & Run, LOTR, Superhero games, so many fun ones. Yes theres still terrible ones, but videos like these sjow how many great ones are out there. For anime licensed games, I really enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist 2 on PS2. It improved so many aspects from the first game

It's really fun! It's aggressively Konami - so there's a TON of menus you need to go through, but the gameplay itself is incredibly solid and the RPG design is killer. Thanks for watching, my friend!

If you liked that one Samurai Jack game on PS2, you'll probably like Samurai Jack Battle Through Time. Definitely check that one out if you haven't yet (It's not a PS2 game but whatever.). If I'm not mistaken, it's made by some people that use to work on some of those 3D Ninja Gaiden games (Can anyone correct me on this?).

Has anyone ever actually said that "all" licensed games on a specific system are terrible? There are good licensed games if you care to do some research. Like for example, X-Men Origins Wolverine. From what I hear, the movie is terrible but the PS3/Xbox 360 video game adaption is really good and fun to play (And it's still the best Wolverine game we ever got....at least until Insomniac Games' Wolverine game comes out that is.).

You'd be surprised at how many people beat the trope of licensed games being awful to death. One of the most frequent comments I get on my VGM unboxings - and, truly the impetus behind this entire series of videos - were comments bitching about how awful licensed games were and that I was getting ripped off by getting sent a licensed game (despite the fact that I would review each game and say how much I enjoyed a particular title.) Is it everyone? No. Is it a lot of people? God, yes. And X-Men Origins: Wolverine is AMAZING. Miles better than the film.

Any of the Lord of the Rings games on PS2 were amazing! The Third Age was a great game on the console as well. It's an RPG and gave off some Final Fantasy 10 vibes at the time! Check that one out of RPGs are your thing at all.

I mean... kingdom Hearts 1 is on PS2... no? The first is great in its style. Played it as an adult (22) and it was actually fun. I dropped KH 2 after about 2 hours of gameplay in comparison. Completed the 1st KH, glad I did cuz BEAST is the best teamate in the series IMO.

I've said it before and I'll mention it here: The Nic Cage Ghostrider game on the PS2 is a surprisingly good God of War clone. It's pretty cheap and definitely worth a play
