I have an idea about their continuation in the possible third arc. The time jump being set up is is plenty of time to make plans, wed and maybe have a couple of little ones running around. If the fan theories are right and Callum is descended from the Jailer (which sparked Aaravos' interest in the first place), that would mean his children are, too, and being half-elves, they probably have some unique features that would grab the attention of a dark mage. Callum and Rayla's arc, than, would be more about protecting their family, having a new appreciation for the word now that they're parents. We could even see a call-out against Claudia and Aaravos, who claim to value family, but are all too willing to tear small, frightened children out of their parents' arms for their ends.
