@ Melee fox is no where near the level of Meta Knight and Bayo. A lot of top players don't even consider him #1 on the tier list any more, or at the very least think he's tied with Puff and Marth for #1. Plus the tech skill required to play fox optimally is so high that it's not really possible to do consistently in tournament, whereas Meta Knight and Bayo were easy and had no real competition for the #1 spot on the tier list.

Arsene isn't too hard to edgegaurd though. Recovery is pretty predictable, the only issue is timing because it's a fast recovery

yall forgetting the I-frames that make it so that joker reaches the ledge 99% of the time against all opponents. A legit wall from steve is prob the first time any character has a good chance of completely preventing arsene from reaching the ledge.

We didn’t forget about the invincible startup When close to the ledge there’s close to no problem There aren’t many timing mixups with it when you REALLY have to recover You can see this with things like palu run off nair to catch Arsene up b Distance wise Arsene is probably better But over all, I’d rather take Joker’s

Okay, but honestly? I don’t think that any character in the history of Smash is ever going to be live up to Steve and Alex. They had to reprogram THE WHOLE GAME for these two. They look and feel like you’re just playing Minecraft in Smash, ‘n whilst we didn’t get Sweden in the game, the sheer amount of love and time put into them (which has taken around three to five years if sources are right) is just insane. It makes me sad to compare the older cast members to them and worried about who we’ll get in the future... Because, Mr. Sakurai is focusing on the “fun” of the characters: just how many more dream picks can be beautifully placed into the game like these Fighter Pass characters in the game? But honestly, I just want characters like Mario to look, act and SOUND like they do in their home series. Mario barely even smiles, despite his image being “happy people’s man-plumber goes around to save people and likely would be cheerful and looking up despite the hardships ahead of him”. Just, let my man smile and say “It’s-a me, Mario!”

Those two need a stupid amount of TLC, especially considering what the communities have done for them. Have you seen Rivals of Aether’s workshop version of DK, or Duke of Dork’s or Toxicrew’s videos on him: THOSE look like a DK who could be in Smash: a character who reflects on some of the most beautiful platformers that Nintendo has in their arsenal.

We all know that Shulk's neutral B was widely regarded as the best neutral B in the game, but now that Steve is announced with being able to pretty much never have to worry about recovering again because of his blocks, which is better? In my opinion it's a tough call, Steve's neutral B alone is just a MEGA broken recovery tool, and can even be used for edge guarding because you can make platforms to attack others on like what, how is that fair at all. But on the other hand, Shulk has 5 different modes and two of them help with recovery. I think they are both equally as good.
