Probably, the part of "and the Mysterious Village" comes from the first Layton game (I'm talking about the japanese title. In the english version, it was changed to "and the Curious Village"). Layton games uses an art style similar to WMT.

What makes this funny to me as a Spaniard is that the Heidi artstyle. In Spanish, Heidi was a huge hit, and 40 years later people still do have some collective love for the show, it made a mark in Spain's history, I'm not kidding.

Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata worked on Heidi: Girl of the Alps and Anne of Green Gables before they founded Studio Ghibli. Even after Miyazaki and Takahata left, they still heavily influenced the future World Masterpiece Theatre shows.
