As a former student of Mister Omar, I am extremely happy to see him speak on a ted talk. During the lessons, we were always motivated to make the smart move. Chess is not just a game, it’s a chance to improve your ability of finding the right approach to challenges and obstacles. Seeing where Mister Omar is now, motivates me to get back into chess. Out of all the teachers I’ve had, Mister Omar definitely has the best energy and fun personality. As always, keep making the smart move. May Allah bless you Mister Omar!

OMAR MY FRIEND ! I had the pleasure of meeting this gentleman in a restaurant where I was walking in to quickly grab a to-go order and we chatted without knowing who he was. He brought me here . Youre a great guy Omar thank you for that conversation in Aventura Florida!

Mister Omar is a great man who speaks of peace and love with deep command. His love of chess and for his students is a badge of honor and integrity that he proudly accepts and wears on his chest. I fondly remember my dear friend John sitting with Mister Omar's students at the Yellow Springs Street Fair. John was a great chess player but thought he should take it easy on the student. Within 3 moves he knew full well that he was up against the wall and lost the match in 27 moves. With mutual respect the players shook hands and he looked at me and said "Mister Omar has taught these kids well". Congratulations on your TED Talk Mister Omar. Keep following your heart!

OMG! I am so impressed. I didn't know I was speaking with a such a well-known and well-respected chess player. I feel honored that you're going to be playing with a unique, antique chess set from India. It will certainly be a great conversation piece with your students too. Please text me later tonight (I'm at work now and get home around 9pm) and let's arrange to meet to get this chess set you can be proud of playing with! Louise

I spoke with Mister Omar over the phone. I called several chess schools and upon speaking with him I knew I found my coach. He sounded so passionate and also seemed eager and excited about the prospect of a new beginner student. I’m looking forward to showing him how little I know about the game. I’m looking more forward into erasing that problem

Wow, this is insane. I went with Mister Omar to the Queen City classic in the academy’s first year, I’m the kid cheesing it up on the far left at 12:28. I remember the championship like it was yesterday, even though I just turned 20 earlier this year. While I couldn’t continue to be apart of the academy in later years, the experience I’ve had with the game of chess, and even more so what I experienced in my time in the Academy, have continued to serve me well throughout my life and even into college. I’m really glad to see Mister Omar is still sharing his lessons and wisdom with others.

Mister Omer you are really a great human being who is so kind loving & generous. A brother figure to me, your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are truly a motivating leader.” ..., Rise up and make it happen. Don't just create; create to change; change to improve; improve to increase. Aspire to inspire. Don't just be making a living; make a life and leave an indelible footstep wherever you step. What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. Wish to see more such speeches. keep going brother you are excellent 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏

Nice talk. I think your prospective about Chinggis Khaan is different than we Mongolians. He didn't conquer your country because you didn't intrigued him. He never fought with any nations unless they started the war. So his game of chess was to defend and conquer.
