Considering how she is from some weird ninth circle and her body is withering away, probably seeing Marina was the only thing that kept her going even if they never met, additionally reading her thoughts would probably make you feel a weird connection to somebody without having even met them. She's shy and comes off as creepy when she probably doesnt even know how to talk properly, shes open about everything to Marina, and she seems like she just wanted a chance to confess her feelings.
