Ya... Pokémon is in a precarious situation. You have all the old timers who like the older mons but they have to also keep things relevant with what's happening in the world of Pokémon in real time, which is why sets like this exist. For me, even tho I never played the games or expansions, I can still appreciate the art of these new sets. I may not go crazy with this set but I know I'll give it a shot just because I always rip the new stuff. I definitely ain't skipping those collection boxes. Those promos are DOPE!!! I have a running theory that the Pokemon company looks at it from the opposite perspective and caters to the various ages of the collectors and players with a variety of arts.

We're just creeping up on 30 years of its existence and things get a bit difficult to traverse at that point, in terms of keeping everyone happy.

I wouldn't mind them focusing on new pokemon if the arts looked cool. Was very dissapointed with ograpon and especially these new arts, but the SIRs from early SV like chi-yu and meowscarada look really good.

It’s weird to me that Horsea AR Seadra common and Kingdra ex full art are in night wanderer but the Kingra SAR promo from English isn’t in it Japanese usually have a theme and stick to it

My only thought is that in the US they pulled it out to sell boxes. It's surprising to me they designed these cards but didn't include them in the Japanese set at all.

It's not the best but it's not nearly the worst. I plan on ripping a bunch. Opening packs is always fun and my kids will open any packs and have just as much fun. Put up them preorders. You rank among the best prices on the internet.

I wasn’t impressed with it at first but from what’s been leaking I decided to pre order some. I don’t think it’s the BEST and I don’t think it’s the WORST. There’s definitely some nice cards in the set.

That's kinda the strange thing, they won't be. This set will only have Night Wanderer cards. Stellar Miracle cards will be in Stellar Crown.

Maybe i should get some from the pokemoncenter or rakutan to open. Trying to keep purchaces to the 151 packs though, ordering one each week to my tenso adress 😂 I've had a lot of luck with the amount of pulls.

pokemon center I trust, rakutan I would be worried about. You can get boxes from safe places for around $60 in US, like calipokehouse on tikto, who is also doing rip till you hit if you're into that. It's not as cheap as the packs on pokemon center, but way safer then open market web sites.

Im not sure if your forced to buy product and how much but i would go small on ETB (maybe if PKC if you could resell those) and then the promo boxes. You seem to nail it right on the head. Not quite sure what Pokemon is doing with this set... The promos are amazing though. The persians imo should be the highest IR, and houndoom second.

I ordered 2 etb poke center, and the other little things for sage keeping but definitely not for ripping just safe keeping. It probally will fail. I'll buy more and they disappear and ill be fine 5 years done the road with chasers over paying for display and or gold cards. BTW poke collect has a nice $200 bundle for these

as much as i want to collect them all, i really dont know any of those legendary pokemon. i never got the expansion. i agree that the best looking cards are the two promos lol. the best SARs in my opinion are persian and penny. but i'm leaning towards skipping this set all together and just putting money into getting the singles i'm missing from the other previous SV sets. might wait for the special pikachu set if thats a thing. at least i know pikachu lol

I think a lot of collectors will struggle with that, not really knowing any of these pokemon. The cards look good from what I've seen, but I'm not sure there's much excitement around them. The Persian and Penny are definitely chases for me too.

This set is pretty weak for collectors overall for sure. Some really nice artworks in the illustration rares - Houndoom and Persian and Horsea all solid but other than that nothing really for me. The Secret Illustration Rares are not good in my opinion. The promo cards are my favourite cards in the whole set too. Crazy.

I Feel like the Pokémon company is not giving the artists full artistic freedom anymore and these SARS are what we’re left with. They all are the same boring, up-close art style and because of that, they aren’t very unique. And then we get the best (by FAR) cards in the set that come as promos haha. I would chase those promos but not much else.
