Thank you for this. My kid is too young for the show, but she loves cuddling our Serenity plushie, so she was thrilled when there was a video of Serenity flying 😊

Is this the only show in history to embrace the "no sound in space" approach? Damn I loved this show
@richardarcher34353 жыл бұрын
Yes I love that. It makes it so much more exciting, but, why do they ruin it by giving the space battle at the end sound? It looses that beautifull superb eerie balletic realism and it just become a kids show. I think it is the only space show that was realistic. There are films, and of course the master, Kubrick with 2001. Forget the sequel 2010, that had sound in space and was boring. There's also Gravity, and I believe the new film First Man is realistic in that way aswell. I don't understand why they have to have sound. I don't get why that makes it more exciting. I think it makes it less exciting.

Nope. Battlestar Galactica (new gen) popularised that filming technique too

@@o-wolf not really, they had muffled sounds where there should have been none

No. The Expanse at times and For All Mankind do it all the time.

@@DrLynch2009 The Expanse is my favourite show of all time but unfortunately it does have a lot of space noise. For All Mankind YES, but I hadn't watched it yet when I made this comment 3 years ago :) cheers

I have wanted to live aboard this ship ever since I first laid eyes on her ungainly & beautiful structure in ep1, Serenity. The interior is both mundanely practical & spectacular. Cabins accessed by ladders (fold down toilets!); the hold,when empty, great for rule-free basketball games; the galley/mess, packed with strange friends; & the shuttles- especially Inara's plush, homey place of business. I want in- even if she's up on blocks in someone's shed. & it ain't the first tv set I've wanted to live in. The men's apartment & Ted's 2nd place in HIMYM. The office in The Wire s2 looks like a great place hang out. Davis' (real location) house in Trèmé would be lovely after a jolly good Spring clean. Midge's beatnik pad, full of pretentious hipsters listening to Miles. Oh, & the Addams' mansion, 0001 Cemetary Lane- & leave the swordfish devouring the human leg, the two-headed tortoise & the Lurch- summoning nooses, please.

Never seen that last scene before, which episodes it from? Was amazing

It's from a sizzle reel that the special effects company from Firefly made for the 15 year anniversary about a year ago or so. Thanks for asking, it is pretty amazing!

The best ever, and it's not close, is the first flyby in ST:TMP along with the leaving spacedock sequence. After that, the only other one that made me have an intense emotional reaction is the credits reveal of Serenity breaking atmo in "Serenity" (seen beginning at 12:45 in the linked video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/inLYcmCHjqyKpbM
