You'll need The Sims 4 Discover University expansion pack to have access to servo sims, which can be created at level 8 of the robotics skill.
Servo only have four needs, being fun, social, durability and charge. Robots can recharge themselves anywhere, and similarly repair themselves to regain durability. Note that a servo can only repair itself once it has been enhanced to level 3 (robots can be enhanced up 10 levels). If a servo isn't level 3 then other sims with the robotics skill can tune them up to raise their durability. Robots are also weak to water and if exposed to it, they will break down.
Robots can also install modules, which will be unlocked as they level up. These can help change how they act passively. These can make servos repair, garden, clean, become the perfect party host, defend your sim and even act as the perfect robonanny.

It's great to see Servo getting some love! A word of warning with electric shocks, though: I found out the hard way that Servos aren't TOTALLY immune. I'm not sure I could reproduce it if I tried, I got a run of shocks from the robotics workstation really close together - somewhere between 3 and 5 shocks - and Servo did the same spin and explode death they do when not repaired. Instant, permanent death 😢 The first shock gives you the "Super charged" moodlet and the second shock makes you "Hyper charged", so I'm guessing it might be if you go above that before the cooldown ends that you become dangerously overcharged and blow up. Either that, or it was a rare glitch!

I have always planned to play a servo some day, but this made it even more appealing. They're cute and have really unique abilities, plus I love the opportunities for drama with the constant threat of breaking down before they've learned how to fix themselves up or when they're caught in the rain.

​​​@@John_Marston74​ I know this comment is old, but I'll reply just in case you still don't know or someone else reading this wants to know. Servos can't be created or edited in CAS. You can either: build them using the robotics station, buy them from debug with the cheat bb.showhiddenobjects and activate them with a robotics station, or turn a sim in live mode into a servo using the cheat traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_MainTrait but you might not be able to turn them back into a sim without mods.

This gives me an idea for a storyline where the servo is like a family heirloom/caregiver for a long line of either normal Sims or vampires. Edit: I just had another idea: evil/mad scientist vampire, with a servo henchman!

Just a heads up about Servos. You can't select their Romantic and Woohoo preferences or Likes and Dislikes, even in CAS with FullEditMode active. However, recently a workaround was posted on EA Answers HQ. What you need to do is, with the Servo as the active Sim, type in the following cheat... traits.remove_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_MainTrait. From here you can go into CAS and set their preferences like any other Sim. Whatever you do DO NOT mess with their appearance. If that Servo skin comes off, you're not getting it back. Once you've set Romance and Woohoo preferences and Likes and Dislikes, exit CAS and enter the cheat... traits.equip_trait trait_Humanoid_Robots_MainTrait. This will restore their Servo status and lock in the preferences you set. I've personally tested this recently with a Servo of my own and it works like a charm. Don't try to get clever and add the Waterproof Trait while it's Servo state is inactive, as having that will stop the second code from working, preventing you from adding the Servo Main Trait back on. I know, I tried. I had to remove Waterproof to restore my Servo properly.

something i found out today is that playing in ponds doesn't lower a servo's durability. yet again, because ponds were added to the game after DU came out, that doesn't surprise me. another wild thing is that every servo has a "human" appearance underneath their robotic shell, which shows if you make them wear costumes (like with the little platform dresser from Get Famous). they'll still move and sound like a servo, and have the same glowing eyes.

they take a LONG time to get to level 10, you're lucky if you can get a level a week. also computer chips can't be transferred to other players or put in storage so the sim with the chips has to do the enhancements.

Great tutorial! I'm trying to figure out how to get the behavioral modules but I'm confused about how it works. I've been downloading enhancement data for days and haven't unlocked the first behavioral module yet. Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong? New subscriber btw!

Heya :) So when your servo levels up he'll unlock the ability to unlock the behaviour module - but then you'll still need to click on him again, and from there you can go through and choose which one you want to unlock. If you're struggling getting him to level up from enhancement data, try swapping to levelling up skills. This was much much faster and more practical for me in leveling up my Servo. Heya! I should do a video on this but in short you buy the robotics station. At level 8 robotics you can make a Servo. This requires a lot of parts that can be bought online on a computer. Other parts you'll need to use the robotics station to craft. Train up the robotics skill making mechanisms and computer chips, as these will be needed to craft servo in the end :).

I need "clothes" for robots that radically change their appearance. Should have been a standard offering in any pack that came out after DU. Just because I'm another occult doesn't mean i can't build robots, how come I can't customise it to my theme? You need a sim with the robotics skill (the one you made it with for example), then you click on the servo and choose tune up from the servo menu option
