Thanks a lot for the video, astonishing how similar my settings are to yours. I struggle with one thing playing Delhi a lot. My scholars when they come out and I want them to pick up a relic and put it inside the mosque, they always go INSIDE instead of dropping it. How can I do it better, I cannot check every scholar every minute!

I've watched most of your videos Valdemar and this is by far the best video you've done! So clean doing the 1,2,3,4 5 6,7,8,9 although I switched 16, 27, 38, 49 and used H for Town Center and double HH for main Town Center ( instead of 5 / 55 ) since I use 5 for Millitary Schools since my main civ is Ottoman. But like you said in the video it's the main thing to customize the keys to your preference. This is an excellent help - thank you, thank you, thank you! Keep the good stuff coming, you're my favorite AOE4 content creator by far and I also love Kevin De Bruyne ( your Doppelgänger ) :-) Didn't know you were Danish!! Kind regards from Iceland!

damn youre diamond and still single click, im gold 3, been had hotkeys set, apm 280 (i know it doesnt mean much just saying) and cant win worth shit. I dont know if its my decision making or game knowledge or all of the above but it's something that isnt making sense why i cant beat golds and plats and then diamonds. Been playing off and on for 3 years and over 2400 hours nand still barely gold 3 smdh....

​@@kmikel3669 I reached diamond after like 300 hours I think. I only play ffa currently and stopped ranked because I hate the gameplay pattern. You have to all in feudal no matter what because the enemy will do that no matter what. At least in my games. I am actually 17-4 this season just playing english/french going all in with archers. I hate that gameplay pattern since its giga noobish and I am not interested in that but I cant beat this playstyle when I am castle rushing as chinese which I enjoy alot more. I dont know what you are exactly playing but I really feel like if you want to succeed in 1 vs 1 you have to be the UGA BUGA degen first and then you can build on top of that and learn intricacies of matchups etc. UGA BUGA is absurdly broken until you get to probably high conq. Defending is just actually more than a million times harder, since you are only allowed to make VERY minor mistakes and only a few of them or its insta gg even against bad players as long as they are aggressive. Beasty defending compared to other semi-pros is night and day difference and other high level players defending compared to me is also night and day difference. Meanwhile me going UGA BUGA in feudal and beasty doing it, is not THAT much of a difference relatively speaking.. ofc he will be more efficient with everything and knows a few tricks that I don't and will micro better but fundamentally it will be the same shit. I strongly believe that if you played this game alot already and watch stuff like this video, then the reason you loose will be first that you don't play braindead feudal builds and secondly that you consistently blunder something random that you know shouldn't happen but its hard because the enemies are most of the times garbage aswell which makes them more unpredictable and you sometimes get punished and sometimes you don't so you never get the feel of how to correctly play certain scenarios. I know exactly how you feel after loosing most of the time. It feels very random and very BS. You can play a game overall 100 times better than your opponent, but if you don't fully respect him and prevent a potential blunder that might loose you the game, then you might aswell loose to a garbage opponent. So yea I am pretty sure the best advice would be, learn a noobish feudal all in build, stick to it, Learn the matchups and get freelo because CONSISTENCY IS KEY!! Aoe4 is one of the hardest/most overwhelming games you can play. You need the most noobish way possible in order to learn to be consistent in the first place. That's how everybody gets diamond/conq anyways. It is what it is.

Brand new player here, I just played and even won my first online 1v1 match ever, and it was against a Gold player, huge thanks to your tutorials (I followed your aggro Rus build)! Spent 80 hours first on finishing campaign, Art of Wars to Gold, and 2vX comp stomps vs Hard/Hardest with my friend. Do you have any comments concerning camera location hotkeys? Seems like they're not quite as necessary as in Starcraft. I have V and Ctrl V as the sole camera hotkey, haven't gotten in the muscle habit to use it yet; might replace with a unit hotkey instead (e.g. for scout, or maybe Imperial Officer if I end up liking Zhu Xi)

until last season i used the cycle through scouts key as caps lock, it really helped with the rus hunting miny game instead of control grouping each scouts, its kinda cringe. with one key i can always find him. with hre i like to use tilda for scrolling prelates, very helpful

always great information, one of the best videos. curious is there a way to just remove rally points altogether? I find when Im getting attacked I don't have time to, and since rally isn't attack move, my units will walk into their doom. but if they spawn with no rally they can fight right away.

I use attack move religiously to do all my attacks because it makes most of my micro mechanics a lot sharper. I tried the newer attack move but I do not like the way it ignores single target on units/buildings which is a crucial part of muscle memory.

Hi Valdemar, im not sure if this will work for you as the key is bound to 5, but when you make keeps with Delhi, i just make sure i hotkey 5 as my TC (which it usually is already, but its automatically bound to that i have to manually bind it with Delhi for this trick) first, and then add the keeps to the same hotkey (5) and that way i still only have to select 5 and make villagers the normal way, but it makes villagers from the keeps too. i hope that makes sense? before when i was trying to do this i always started the springald upgrade which was frustrating

Great video! Question about the army type control hot keys being overriden into control group hotkeys..... So, let's say you have overriden your melee hotkey on 1 with your current army of MAA/spearman; when you make new infantry from barracks are they not on any hotkey now? How do you add them quickly to your 1 hotkey? Select all idle army... Tab to infantry and select in unit list and press ctrl-1 again?

Take the new units and shift + x(control group number) and add them to the existing group

I would like some advice, I have managed to get to conq 1 but I used select all army very often, it has become a big hindrance and I just can't go without it anymore, it's especially annoying with Rus who have monks that are considered army, so picking relics becomes impossible, scouts for malians, etc. Any way to remove this habbit, some tricks to add new units to control groups quickly? thanks.

That was news to me as well. It seems if you setup a control group while not having anything selected, it assigns "nothing" to that control group, i.e. it empties it.

Do you have any video settings that make units stand out better? I've been experimenting with them myself with minor success. I'm thinking about how SC2 and WC3 and even Rocket League/Fortnite turn down certain visuals and aesthetics for better game visibility.

They are not used often so I access them through F1 (select all production) and then I click tab until I reach the special prod building

i usually have a problem when i switch between cotrolling different control groups for example when i put lets say cavalry on 3 and siege on 4 and i select cavalry using the 3 key and order them to attack then i select the siege using the 4 key and order them to go back somehow the cavalry also retreats is this normal? is the game not fast paced enough if i do it fast enough is there some king of latency or input lag? im pretty sure its not on my end. can anyone help please?

Hmm, sounds like you might be unintentionally adding the units to each others control groups. I'd have to see it to be able to tell though

I'm shocked that you don't use a hotkey to cycle through your docks. How do you build boats without a hotkey for docks? If you use a control group, won't it override a different important building?

If I am playing water I overwrite my Barracks hotkey with docks as control groups. Then if I play hybrid I do the same and access my barracks through F1
