Poles were forced to do many awful things under both Soviet and German authorities. It is a reference to this. The Soviets have a strong presence in the Cyberpunk universe, and the irl Polish writers have every reason to despise them, given the humanitarian crimes they committed towards Polish peoples.

Palica and Zhou are both absolute monsters with a cyberdeck and maxed out smart weapon perks. I run an int/body build and these weapons are insanely powerful with my build. Essentially when you run overclock you get instant lock on, the smart weapon perks make sure almost all rockets hit and if you open combat with legendary contagion, you essentially get Ba Xing Chong as all enemies explode due to contagion’s secondary effects. I’ve tried int/cool and int/reflexes as well and the int/body build is truly the most powerful. Not to mention how well the adrenaline tree synergizes with overclock. Definitely try it sometime!

@@mhead1117 Correction, Sandy makes the very late-game* a joke. - Sandevistans only turn god-tier around the same stage of the game when a netrunner can just upload three hacks and watch a whole compound full of enemies die. - Nevermind that Sandy's only useful if you plan on going melee, or throwing weapons, otherwise if you're gonna use it purely to line up headshots? Just use a Kerenzikov. Edit* I aways wish people would keep in mind that pretty much any build is overpowered with full legendary stuff. - At max level where you can basically be 15+ in all stats and have more perks than you could possibly need, pretty much everything is OP. The most overpowered thing in the entire game of Cyberpunk is Ping, because it's a cheap-ass quickhack that gives a load of information, makes tech weapons basically count as cheating, and the tier 1 version you get at the start of the game is all you need for the entire playthrough, it's just as viable and useful at the end as it is early on. It's not OP because it can one-shot Adam Smasher, but because it's invaluable for 99% of the game even as a tier 1 piece of kit. - You show me any tier 1 gun or implant that you can genuinely say "I'm gunning down Dogtown and this is irreplaceable in my kit".

The “Sovereign” Igla reminds me so much of the Super Shotgun from DOOM. Perhaps not the most practical shotgun among the bunch, but respect to the Kings and Queens of Night City who main it.

@@XLbuffLive No. you get one of 4 unique mods from the chimera core Firecracker, Wallpuncher, Hackatomy, or Severance each for one type of weapons - power, tech, smart or melee. You don't get a shotgun mod. That mod is one of 4 mods that Sam talked about in another video that he said he has no idea how to get other then to use a cheat to manually add it and asked if people found one of them. Now I have one of those 4 mods but I have no clue where I got it and it is not that one.

I know it got nerfed with PL but I still love Sovereign. If you get the implant to EMP blast on reload, every shot is an explosion, especially if you are using weakspots then you can get a cool chain reaction in groups. Never heard of Kneel before this though, seems very OP. Order is great too, I love the way enemies kinda line up for you when you use it.

I’m honestly surprised that the Igla was so low on this list. Maybe it’s just me, but any time I start a new game, any build, I keep an Igla in my back pocket, just in case. It is such a convenient gun in every way. Super easy to find early game, it’ll either be this or the Carnage for enemy drops, so no buying crafting specs or hunting for one. It deals a huge amount of damage even when unmodded and not using shotgun perks, and a lot of that is because of how fast it is. It is so convenient to be able to shoot twice and have both shots come back in no time because of how fast the reload speed is. It honestly makes me think that the early game is sort of a blind spot in these lists, because once I do start to pick up more cyberware and better weapons for my build, the Igla gets dropped. That being said, that’s usually after I get 10 levels of the body trait just from using it in scanner hustles and quick gigs.

Sovereign is the way to go. ADS firing both rounds at once and fastest reload speed of any gun in the game. Sovereign + Sandy = watch entire gangs explode limb-from-limb in slow motion 😂

I never used the Igla, even on my shotgun builds. Maybe it's the difficulty settings but two rounds didn't typically cut it on Very Hard. You might drop one enemy, sure, but I guarantee you the other Tyger Claws aren't going to politely wait for you to reload. Also, being useful early game might be nice, but if you play the game for 1000 hours your early game percentage is going to be fairly small and only diminish over time.

@@Carnagefiend I reliably use the Igla on Very Hard! It's a challenge. it's not that the Igla is bad but that there are FAR better options and shotguns are arguably a bit too strong in this game. I think you described it well, it's something useful early game that you drop at the 100hr mark. That helps a player to feel that they progressed and got stronger, if they start with an entirely obsolete duck gun that's older than your grampa When getting a higher tier Carnage, Tactician, or Pozha, it feels like a real upgrade in power and technology if the last thing they were using was an Igla.

Shock-N-Awe is a great Cyberware to use with the Dezerter. Everytime the Dezerter sets you on fire you have a change to unleash a huge electroshock.

Painducer also pairs great with Shock-N-Awe. It basically guarantees that Shock-N-Awe will trigger, even multiple times, and the self-damage feeds back into Painducer.

Very late but on top of shock'n'awe there also is microgenerators wich kick in EVERY shit of deserter cuz every shot emptys the mag so it always triggers it every shot and always gives you even more shock dmg on top of explosion and fire dmg. Dezerter is insane

The Palica shotgun is kind of strange and their projectiles kind of launch like a Javelin missile, IE they drop a bit before rocketing off. I have found better luck locking on, then firing upwards so the projectiles rain down from above. It's awesome.

The Satara has always been my favorite shotgun ever since the first gameplay reveal for the game! Seeing the magnets charging up and steaming has always been a dopamine hit! Lately I’ve fell in love with the Order since I’ve finally tried out the dlc, any other shotgun just doesn’t feel right. Always hated how low KZbinrs placed it since they believed you had to always charge it up to deal damage, even though it only does more when using perks. Just a shotgun that shoots through walls likes multipellet railgun! I hope Satara comes back in the next cyberpunk game.

small note to the Order you can actually reset your double jump and dash midair by shooting quickly and getting knocked back allowing you to jump higher or further than ever before. This also somewhat works with the Guts however the knockback is much smaller and therefor sometimes makes it harder to pull off, but at least you dont have to reload for every shot (you can only reset the jump and dash once tho even if you shoot twice mid air)

They patched this specific bug in 2.12 :( It's insane how they are still fixing things from *the beginning of the base game*. Order and its knockback effect has been here since the game released in 2020 and now it's 2024...

@@AdamOwenBrowning uhm pretty sure its still there, I used it like a week ago on the current patch. also Order was a new weapon with Phantom Liberty, air dash was also a new feature in 2.0. im not 100% sure if a weapon like comrades hammer was able to reset double jump in the past tho, or guts after it was added after edgerunners. if you want to test it a bit i recommend going to the sewer canal and just try to jump from one end to the other. you can either shoot order straight down for slightly more height or you can kinda shoot it at an 45° angle downwards pointing to your back to jump even further ^^ (also you dont have to charge order just do a quick shots its enough to trigger the knockback)

Animation cancelling is something I don’t see mentioned enough with shotguns, considering how often they reload and the fact that quick attacks play a key role in a lot of shotgun builds. In the case of Ba-Xing-Chong specifically: equipping the burn this city perk and then throwing a grenade mid-reload to end the reload early both increases damage immensely and consistently gives pyromania to ensure you always have the 50% mitigation bonus from the burn this city perk AND the added mitigation of the regular pyromania stacks.

Kneel and the mod that tightens your pellets on the Testera makes it a mid range killing machine. Even without kneel, I was really surprised at the increased damage in practice (despite what the weapon card says) that comes from most of your pellets actually hitting. It’s probably my favorite shotgun set up.

Just wanna say I really enjoy watching your videos and theory-crafting builds. Every time I watch one of your vids I wanna start another playthrough and try something new. I just did a Shotgun build my last playthrough mainly using the Satara, Crusher, and Alabai. All work super well with a Sandevistan. I never found the XMOD2 Pozhar or the "Kneel!" mod but I still had a great time obliterating people.

Sovereign paired with the right build and cyberware is truly a beast. Take all perks from Body shotgun tree, put in your hand cyberware slot that one which adds shock damage after reloading (which means everytime you shoot with Sovereign) and keep yourself at very close quarter distance. Shoot once at torso, gain that reload bonus and shock damage bonus (which applies to both shells fired), shoot again, gain more bonus, rince and repeat. I killed Smasher on Very Hard with mere 20 shots (and lots of Cyberware Malfunction quick hack).

Oh yeah, the Satara...if you've cranked up the Tech tree so you get the Bolt shots, ignoring armor and setting the target plus nearby enemies on fire, that gun is ABJECT DEATH INCARNATE at closer ranges. If you're rocking one of these for close range and the Nekomata tech sniper rifle for long range there is very, very little the game can throw at you that you won't be able to handle. The Tech guns are just awesome.

Crazy to think the Igla was underpowered; I used it as my primary shotgun. Mainly I guess my style of sprint and cover, plus quickly unloading both barrels directly in the face of my target made it seem like the strongest option. My most recent playthrough has been with Tech weapons, so the Satara has since changed my mind.

5 month late but here i am XD I think he underrated Igla and Souvereign severely and wluld have to bump imbith up a few if he just tested them wich micro genereator cyberware. After reloading a fully emptied gun it gives the first shot bonus shock dmg. Igla gets that bonus every 2nd shot. Souvereing get that bonus EVERY shot Talking bout microgenrators, Dezerter is completely broken. It explodes and triggers pyromania, sets ylu on fire and gives you dmg mitigation while burning and triggers shock'n'awe cyberware to deal constand aoe shock dmg like a walking tesla coil and it triggers microgeneratos EVERY shot so it deals explosion, fire and shock dmg at the same time while keeping you alife by burning you and passively killing everyone around you without you even looking at them

My favorite shotgun build was a hybrid body/reflex character I called "Thor." He used Order, but would exclusively fire charged bolt shots from the air using Air Kerenzikov and airdashes. Firing a fully charged tech shotgun in the air actually resets both your double jump and air dash, so I could jump in, air dash, unleash a thunderbolt of punishment, and jump-dash out again. If you could rename weapons, Order would have become "Thor's Hammer" in a heartbeat, lol

I had a lot of fun starting phantom liberty using sovereign and the caretaker shovel with the berserker OS. Popping it when fights got too overwhelming for the shotgun turning into some sort of invincible WW1 trench rusher with an excavation tool was cathartic (using the blunt weapon charge perk) especially juxtaposed against the world of smart weapons, quick hacks, and all sorts of tech

Any of the double barreled shotguns I found to be absolutely amazing when combined with the reduced reload for shotguns perk and the cyberware that increases damage after reloading. It's kind of a no brainer, and even with just these two mods (which are available fairly early) your damage becomes absolutely busted at low levels, particularly if you grind enough to get the +damage after melee perk. I prefer the ones that aren't tech though, since melee/charging/firing shotguns is a lot riskier than melee/fire/ or fire/melee/fire.. and smart shotguns are very questionable since the whole point is to swiss cheese an enemy when you invade their personal space.

Missed one. I obtained a tier 5 carnage loaded with two tier 3 vivisectors while grinding NCPD gigs. Unfortunately, I don’t remember which one, but I do remember it was in the northern part of NC. It does more damage than any other weapon I have found. It typically one shots any opponent 90% of the time. 100% if I get a headshot. Most corpses are giblets. It tears them up so much that I have had to become something of an expert at distinguishing amputated limbs from rifles lying on the ground far from their victims bodies. The only drawback is the slow reload time. I have found it useful to load a contagion/overload quickhack to my nearest opponents while reloading to keep them occupied.

I do think you have a flaw in how you ranked bloody maria (and the tactician as a whole). It is easily the best gun for the rip and tear perk, making it also very effective when facing cyberpsychos by chaining the attacks, simultaneously stunlocking them and destroying health bars

It's funny because Palica is my favorite smart weapon. The Zhuo is up there too. There's a trick with the Palica. You have to aim high after lockon so the projectiles drop down on the target's head, going over cover if applicable.

You forgot to add that Satara not only can have Kneel but also the iconic Wallpuncher mod. Making it one shot small enemies and charge big hits on bosses. In fact it's so OP that I don't use Kneel at all, "just" an Equalizer...

Xmod2 is without a doubt the best shotgun. Add in firecracker and kneel and kill enemies in 1 shot. Faster shot, faster reload, higher ammo capacity. Not sure why satara is put first here.

For me nothing beats the Crusher/Amstaff, lots of semi auto shotgun damage, lighting fast reload, tight pellets that make mid range possible but not so tight that it makes close quarter fights difficult. Literally a perfect shotty in my eyes.

The Palicia is actually quite good as a sidearm in a netrunner build with the perk giving instant targeting. Basically only use it with overclock active, and it absolutely shreds bosses. Add in the chimera perk and it'll be doing a quickhack every 2 shots or so.

I think the Headsman needs to be placed higher. With the 200% headshot multiplier and extremely high base damage and decent enough rate of fire, made this shotgun pretty devastating with a Sandi.

Having actually played 2.0 as an Intelligence build, I can assure you that Palica packs one hell of a punch! And it's so satisfying to push the trigger, and watch the swarm of pellets home in on somebody's dome with a slight delay. Maybe it's a disadvantage, whatever, but it's cool af! And it sure as hell wasn't missing the target 90% of the time. Provided the target was unobstructed.

Even without using the kneel mod, aiming for legs still works wonders for shotguns, since usually this will make the enemy fall down, immobilizing them for a while and more importantly, if you dont move the crosshair, lines your next shot with their head, allowing for fun and easy kills

Guts is by far the best parkour weapon. Upon shooting it, you replenish the dash and the jump so you can double jump, shoot down and then jump again which is insane for movement. I have moments of circling around enemies and not dropping down cuz I can simply stay in the air forever with it

Try a testera with Kneel! and Firecracker.. 12 projectiles that splash the effect of Kneel!.. one shot to the ground can drop multiple enemies.. behind cover? Shoot the ground next to them lol have fun.. very broken

Let's be skeptical, even if "Kneel!" wasn't bugged, and the chance is indeed meant to be 25% per pellet ((it should be more like 2.5% imho)), including it into the factors that determine the list is like making a video on "the best (literally anything) in 1.6" but in every entry you just go "equip this alongside an arm cannon with tranq darts and you'll be OP!"

As a net gunner build spec’d into int, tech and reflexes… the palica is great. Dunno if the smartgun perks help but almost all pellets hit every time I lock on, and in 2.12 at least, ads-ing with a smart gun automatically targets the head so in my experience it has great damage and better range than every shotty except the headsman(possibly, I’ve yet to use that one at medium-long range

I’ve been playing a reflexes build this play through but when I do my next body build I’ll be avoiding the kneel mod after watching this. That’s way too OP. If they changed it from 25% chance to 7%, if you connect with 5 pellets it’s a 30% chance to kill which is incredible. And the risk that it doesn’t happen would make it so satisfying when it does. Where it is now is just kid mode. No risk, no reward.

Not always in my loadout, but the Pozhar XMOD2 with Kneel! and Firecracker is what I call my "cheater" gun. However, I prefer to keep the DB2 Satara handy with Vivisector (early game) or Kneel! (later) and either C-Thru or Wallpuncher (if I decided on that for my Chimera mod). Only 2 shots, but the reload is quick enough and the option to go through cover takes care of those sneaky Scavs hiding behind cars. Just for fun, and to make things a challenge, I do enjoy equipping Guts sometimes. It's completely uncontrollably and glacially slow to reload, but it's sometimes fun to play with something so difficult to wield.

pretty much, my first playthrough was a nomad chrome compressor build with 20/20/20/18, haven't specced into shotgun whatsoever, and rather specced into tech weapons as a teritary damage attribute alongside pls and ar/smg, which made order shotgun overpowered in the sense that it blows everything up, but once I found the kneel mod, it broke the game by putting it on pozhar with firecracker(originally for guillotine xmod2), and broke the secret ending in a way that is not funny, the robots were dealt with breakthrough/rasetsu/sparky, and the final smasher fight(all 2.1), was able to be destroyed by order shotgun, each shot taking away 15% of smasher health, but erebus is what finished off him(2x runs, the first one was condenser instead of kneel, and it still felt overpowered, the 2nd run with firecracker, and the mod felt broken with instant kill against grouped enemies in a single shot)

Its strange..I didn't go to your lengths to figure out which is the best, but I've used most of these, and I still like the igla better than most. It just feels like the right combination of powerful, fast, and accurate for me. I have two of them, one with kneel and something else..that also increases headshot damage. And another igla that also has a mod that is a pretty much an insta kill. The only level that seems challenging to get through with my Breakthrough and Igla is the train station in the space port. (Which, so far..is still kicking my butt)

I almost exclusively use Guts. Not because it's the "best" in 2.0+, but because we've been through two full playthroughs together. First time was after I saw Edgerunners, and I knew someone had a message for Adam Smasher, second time was because, well, I just liked it. Again, maybe not the "best" shotgun, but it's the one I chose, and I'm going to use it, hell or high water.

I really wish we could fire the Pozar and Alabai and Amstaff from cars and motorcycles. They really needed some one handed shotguns. Amstaff in particular matches my bike and fashion so well, it would’ve been a match made in screenshot heaven.

I was looking for a good shotgun for a chaotic cyberpsycho build, and by God, no other shotgun can compare to Guts. Probably the most fun gun in the game next to Body maxxed Gorilla arms (which btw, pair amazingly together)

I am currently playing the shotgun/tank/bruiser build and amstaff is incredible, especially with "Rip and Tear" perk. Really fast attack speed combined with melee attacks to finish off enemies is really fun and poweful. I really recommend trying it out.

I''ve tried all shotguns in Cyberpunk and so far the headsman still takes the number 1 spot, despite it's enormous nerf in 2.0 If you are going to pair it with a sandevistan then there is simply no enemy in the game that can defeat you. It's broken beyond comprehension, maxtac after maxtac, your only problem will be ammo management. Another great option is bloody maria, specially on normal difficulty it does actually take 1 shot to kill, this is easily the best shotgun for builds that do not use sandevistan. Sovereign is another option if you don't like aiming with headsman, use sandevistan and get stupidly close to your opponents, making sure those sweet crits hit every time. Generally the most stable shotgun platform in the game is the Tactician, you just can't go wrong with it and i think it's the one most people will find somewhat "op" Keep in mind that im only counting raw damage here, no bullshit like "instant kill chance" since it's going to probably get patched like the short-circuit.

P.S. You can get Dezerter shotgun without doing the quest. I got it while randomly scanning DG on my 1st playthrough, but there's a high Tech or Intelligence check, at least lvl 15.

DB-2 Testera (non-iconic) is currently my most favourite gun to use, next to Guts. I have the 2 Mod variation of the Testera and I have slotted a T5 Pyro along with a T5 Vivisector. I use a sandy build with a high reload rate, and clearing groups of enemies is 1000% FUNtastic. I may swap out the Pyro for something else, but I am pretty much at the end of vanilla and a few missions away from PL's end. If anyone is a fan of the Testera, then try out those mods and see if you like it. As far as I have read, Pacifier, Crunch and Penetrator (which I would have slotted 1 or 2 of the aforementioned mods) have been removed as of 2.0, and considering I've played 130+hrs so far without encountering a single one of those 3, then they must have been removed. However, I don't know why up to date sites and YT uploads still recommend those mods for certain guns when they are nowhere to be found in the game anymore.

I actually like Crusher (the normal one, not the Barghest one) the most for kneel, 12 shots over 10 with Pozhar. With Kneel + Firecracker, more rounds in the mag the better I feel like in the future Barghest variants should be review separately, Barghest Warden is way more kickass than the regular Warden for example. (It actually fires 4 projectiles per shot, so it's arguably more of a smart auto shotgun than an smg lol)
