I remember playing Simcity 3000 so much as a kid, and having no idea how strategy games and proper city planning worked, just spent the time putting these landmarks in the pre-made cities xD I have to say there's something so enamouring and almost ethereal about the landmarks being isometric 2.5D images instead of 3D models, it gives them that proper air of early 2000s gaming

Not sure if the game mislabeled it but the game depicts Westminster Abbey, not Westminster Palace

Chartres Cathedral was one of my favorites to place.

Always found a lot of the landmarks in this game to be pretty obscure.

yeah it was actually hard to find photos for some of them, they really deep dived on only regionally known stuff

@@aussiejinjo it’s a shame they didn’t add things what everyone knows like the Leaning Tower of Pisa or Buckingham Palace and the Chrysler Building. They’d have been some good ones. Feels a bit empty without those, especially if you’re trying to recreate a real city with them.

I also don’t remember landmarks from 13:02 to 13:43 being in game, even in the Unlimited version.

Am I blind? I don't remember seeing the Natural History Museum in landmarks in-game.

there are great buildings historically and/or architecturally. also there are very very mediocre buildings, I bet only people who live in same city or country put them in their cities. I always prefered roughly 30 of them. never put most of it any of my cities and I play this game for 25 years...

Jerusalem, Palestine* It's a pity there is no Chateau de Versailles. :/
