yes! to me, it symbolizes rebirth. it was cut when she was chipped and horde prime's ideology was purity (as twisted as it was). after the chip is removed, it's when she starts making the biggest change for the better and when her happiness becomes easier to come by. as it grows back out, i'm sure she'll be growing as well and more than anything, that's beautiful. and also cute kitty girl with a cute haircut is cute :3

It was important too for both of them, Both of them were traumatized by Shadow Weaver, in different ways, but she harmed both of them. This resulted in Catra being entirely about protecting herself and pushing people away to avoid the risk of pain, amplified after she thought Adora left her for other friends, so to open herself up as she did, and risk it being unrequited was huge. For Adora, she internalized other people's expectations into her own, so she saw herself only through the lens of doing stuff for others, so she'd be worthy of their love. It's why she was so focused on being She-ra more than Adora. She didn't see herself as a person worthy of love unless she was being the hero and doing for others. To have someone say they love her, irrespective of being the hero, that they always loved her, even when she was just a nobody was what she needed to hear.

I love the symbolism with Catra's hair, but I wish they had taken it a step further. When Catra started with her hair being straight and semi-manageable, but the moments Adora left her hair started to tangle and became unreasonably "imperfect" for her. This paralleled her emotions of wanting to be "perfect" like Shadow Weaver wanted, and majority of her stability and identity was in what Adora and Shadow Weaver thought of her. As Catra and Adora's relationship had ups and downs throughout the series her hair became more and more unmanageable, until she hit a breaking point. The point her heart was ready to forgive. The point she was willing to fully let go of her past and be friends with Adora again, and it was at this moment of the show her hair was cut short, symbolically showing her letting go and starting new. This is where my version goes down a slightly different more meaning full path. After she cut her hair I would've shown that her hair was naturally curly. This in my opinion would've been even more symbolic to her character. Most people with curly hair will tell you that the number one thing they did as children was to try and straighten their hair to match up with the rest of the society around them. This would very much fit Catra as character. Her hair starts out straight and almost unruly making it "almost perfect" in her's and Shadow Weaver's eyes. After Adora runs away Catra's hair much like her emotional state becomes even more "imperfect" than it originally was. When she hits a breaking point and is finally ready to let go the old ways of Shadow Weaver and start a new way of finding her true self her hair is cut. As she starts to except all her imperfections her hair starts to curl like it naturally wanted to all along and as it grows, it grows into beautifully healthy ringlet curls symbolizing her new healthy life with the woman she loves.

Catra is Etherian. If her race was from Krytis, they would have had to have visited Etheria in great numbers for her line to continue more than a thousand years ago as that is when Mara pulled Etheria into the empty dimension of Despondos. Melog itself was originally a creature in the original canon made of mud and magic, but in the reboot. he closely resembles the cat creature that Catra could turn into in the original version of She-ra from 1985 where she was actually human and came from the island of Purrsia and used the face mask stolen from the race of magicats (themselves humanoid cats) to transform. In fact, we see this in Bow's fantasy in season 2's Roll With It episode, the entire fantasy is a homage to the original show, right down to the music and the way Catra talks. even the music over the end credits is the original closing theme. In the reboot, we first see it in a humanoid form, which suggests it can change shape. it likely took a feline form because it imprinted on Catra, being the first life form to interact with in years.
