I don't know if Leon's original voice actor returned, or if he got a replacement that sounds very similar. The former is believable, because your voice changes with age, especially after 19 years between your first and latest roles as the same character.

It felt like it had more variety, even though it is incredibly archaic compared to modern stuff. By that I mean all of the voicing over all, not just Leon's.

@@The_Twero Except Andross and Star Wolf. Falco and Slippy might be two of Fox’s closest friends, but it’s unknown if his father knew them. (Although it’s likely it’s the case, since the toad and the bird are friends with Fox for a minimum of two years.) It also applies to Bill, except it’s more likely James knew him since he knows Fox for a longer time than the two.

I love how they took the 64 personalities and turned them up a bit. Wolf went from a posh braggart to a somewhat less posh, but more collected braggart. Leon went from smug and cultured to a somehow smugger and more posh personality. Pigma went from an evil jerk with a money fetish to an evil SCUMBAG with a money fetish who loves to rub his success in other people's faces and whines harder when he loses. Andrew went from inexperienced and somewhat privilleged to that annoying rich kid who thinks he's the best because his Uncle buys everything he wants. It's great because it emphasizes their worst traits, and really solidifies Star Wolf as the villains rather than Assault's anti-hero characterization.

Matthew while I understand the mindset that your looking at this with, that was the point. Star wolf is supposed to be the “dark starfox”. That’s why there’s four of them to the four of the members of team starfox, and why each of them only ever tried to shoot down their opposites. It’s also devaluing the game when the characters complain so much. In starfox 64, which is the game that this game so clearly wants to be, the characters are snarky sometimes, but there are multiple lines of dialogue in which they are extremely serious. In starfox 64, Andrew is annoying, but at least the way the voice actor delivered their lines to make it sound like he was qualified for the job. In starfox zero, the character acts and sounds like a little kid, and his outbursts make the player want say things along the lines of “stfu”, and not in a way that is spiteful of the character, but in a way that is spiteful of the game, and the way that the game presents the characters as characters. The series as a whole is meant to be seriously, even when it is a game about personified animals flying spaceships, and starfox zero completely misses the point by making the opposites to starfox so damn annoying

Team Starwolf seems more like a generic Rival. Assault gave them an actual purpose as Pirates/ gangsters/ Thugs. The counter balance to Fox's small Mid Military Operation. "Elite Warriors for hire". Anti Hero's who won't hesitate to rob or kill you blind if you slip up once. Wolf is a Gang Lord/Pirate king like Jabba. But the difference is that Wolf is on the frontlines. Fox is a Captain and a Leader.

Ok that one on one fight against wolf is now one of my favorite boss fights EVER. I mean come on it's both the leaders duking it out with wolf showing his true colors and real skills transforming his wolfen into the wolf runner, plus that new dash attack was something else too, and it's also a fairly challenging battle too. I know, Wolf is a bit… complicated. I think he mainly works with Andross and his army, but refuses to let someone that isn’t Andross (or a member of his army and/or member of Wolf’s team) take over the Lylat system. Actually, it’s simple: To his eyes, only him, any members of Star Wolf, Andross and any member of his army (except those who betray them, of course.) can take over the Lylat System. (If someone who isn’t in any of those armies tries to do it, it’s likely Wolf would help that person… except if it backstabbed him.)

The last Starfox I enjoyed was Assault. The choice to fight on land or in the air with a huge arsenal was pretty badass. I'd personally prefer that sort of entry over their sorta rail shooter approach that's classic. ..yet they still refuse to make Wolf playable in their modern games :u

I actually love Assault, as well as Adventures, more than 64. Especially Assault because it had more variety and he characters' voices weren't so dang annoying. Plus, your teammates ACTUALLY show you gratitude when you save them. Also, it was the first time I saw Krystal, who's honestly one of Nintendo's few good female characters. It upsets me that they hardly did anything with her, but will work with that dumb blonde, damsel-in-distress stereotype. Also, I wish they'd put Wolf in SSB4.

In assault, Star Wolf only consists of Leon as the remaining original member, meanwhile Andrew is…Andrew and Pigma runs solo So it’s pretty clear who Wolf valued more as a teammate That or both Andrew and Pigma left on their own accord, in which at least Leon is more loyal I guess?

The best part of all this is 14:40. Legit so much stuff happening right there and it looks so intense. Getting blasted by the base while chasing Wolf. As you pursuit him you see the other 3 Members closing in on Fox. The camera angles look SO GOOD. As you chase wolf and Andrew who are baiting Fox; Pigma and leon are chasing fox down.

I only just barely got the hang of it after like 9 hours of play time and even now it's still something I only use when I absolutely have to. Thankfully it only comes into play during some of the boss fights. Most of the game can be played using the third person view exclusively.

The controls and the screen are easy to get used to, especially if you switch the motion control setting in the options, and the length is a non-issue because of all the paths and side content in the game.

This game would be the perfect revival for Star Fox except that the writing is laughably horrendous, and the voice actors' performances are ones that after almost every line here, I had to pause to take in how little sense a lot of their lines make. While they did fix Fox's voice from SSB4, they dragged the other characters down (especially Andrew and Pigma). Even for a game (which isn't the same as a movie, where I developed my critical view of things with a plot), this is inexcusable.
