Cool fan-lore incoming (might have some stupid stuff): After the first fight was a fail, Daddy Dearest shows up at their house and sees the fight Boyfriend had Ultra M and decides to give him a continue to make things right and restarts him back on Act 1 and Boyfriend, shocked at first decides to change the future. Boyfriend realized that Mario was just distracting him so he makes sure to protect Girlfriend with all of his might. On Act 2 with Girlfriend alive, it's almost a fair fight so Boyfriend distracts Tanooki Mario till a certain someone has come to help, Pico. With the three all together to face Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi they know they are close to victory but they don't know that Ultra M is here and watching and decides to plan a little something for the trio. On Act 3 Ultra M appears now knowing Boyfriend has somehow had a continue but now knows that it was Daddy Dearest was the one to give Boyfriend a continue so he uses the dead boyfriend, girlfriend, and pico on the first attempt to get them weakened. On Act 4, Ultra M now fully manifested and revealed himself scares the trio but doesn't dwindle their determination, they fight on. On act 4.5 Boyfriend has a solo confronting Ultra M and Pico and Girlfriend hear what Boyfriend had to go through tears off their faces and decide to back him till the end. On Act 5, Boyfriend now not alone is calmer and is ready to fight Ultra M with his loved ones and weaken Ultra M through sheer willpower and Ultra M tried the spike on Boyfriend once again but he dodges it knowing what was about to come. They successfully defeated Mario and were free from the cartridge and destroyed the entity within it and smash the game. i imagine after the final notes are sung you just see Bf, Gf and Pico taken up into some kind of heavenly light as they finally escape M's world (probably thanks to Double D finally noticing the three's disappearance and puling them out) and then M tries to reach out and grab them in a desperate attempt to not let them leave. and as the three escape the game you get the "course clear" jingle as heard and M is left alone in his world trapped forever.

thanks, but yea most people hate me because i made a "good ending" which IS NOT EVEN CANNON, ITS FANMADE but you're right, the buildup all for nothing, just to lose, and still have SOME MYSTERY, some QUESTIONS, that will forever remain unanswered due to pico being left alive and no planned future updates (besides the hotfix, but that isnt gonna add shit to the lore)

@@goofericious-goober Yeah, Mario's Madness is just... a good mod, not an excellent nor the best mod, which is only criminal when you consider that the team had 2 entire years to work on the mod yet there are flaws that are in literal plain sight, such as mechanics being poorly distributed across characters (Devil Mario and Turmoli have the same mechanic with Turmoli's mechanic being harder to comprehend or dodge despite the fact he appears earlier, Wario Apparition gets no mechanic...), The Content Cosmos and the Irregularity Isle essentially being Big Lipped Alligator Moments when you see that not even Ultra M brings that up ever again, or even the story that's so full of plotholes. The worst offense is even Abandoned that has a glitch that makes it impossible if your FPS rate is too high, without any warnings for that. What I'm trying to say is that the team behind Mario's Madness did the unthinkable and succesfully BOTCHED a game in 2 YEARS. I really hope that they can at least make a patch to fix some of the glitches and make some of the mechanics less confusing. Or even just distributing mechanics for every characters instead of giving them without any thoughts in mind.

I feel like this version would have a pre-cutscene, so Lemme describe what I think would happen: It's the end of Act 1, bf and gf have finally finished singing. Distracted by his small victory, bf doesn't notice one of Ultra M's going to grab girlfriend. Obviously gf sees this though, and since she can't use her demon powers, gf starts visibly panicking. Girlfriend is about to get grabbed until... BANG! A shot rings out. Ultra M's hand retracts itself, obviously injured. Girlfriend turns around to see who her savoir is, and it's... Pico! He somehow found his way out of Mr. L's world and made it to the final battle. The 3 stand together, more confident now than ever that they can defeat Ultra M and his minions once and for all.

So there are people that are mad that BF and GF died, even though they die a lot in the fan games the difference here is that the game is too long just to end like that, it’s like if you are playing a game where the objective is to defeat the villain and at the end he suddenly kills you with a gun and the game ends, there wasn’t any clue that you were gonna die anyways even if you completed the game, if they wanted to kill them at least they could have made it constructing the idea through the game that there wasn’t any escape or at least make an alternative ending. Fun fact:There were plans for a good ending mix but things would mostly play out the same but boyfriend would escape before Ultra M could kill him and when he does he tells daddy dearest that Ultra M killed his daughter.Then Daddy Dearest would shot Boyfriend and hop into the game for a final section Note:The way this good ending mix would work was you had to Full Combo the song

Full Combo clearly shows a lack of consideration for sanity. I mean, Full Combo the WHOLE-ASS SONG?! It's like, more than 8 minutes long and the last time a song had to go through with that was Triple Trouble who actually came up with a mechanic to not disadvantage you. I think a better way of getting the good ending would be to actually go through all of the songs without requiring the help of Luigi, implying that you took your time completing all the songs and thus bought enough time for the Dearests to do something. And since Mommy Mearest is supposed to be more ill-intended than her hubby yet no one showed her actually going to that level of cruelty, I imagine that the good ending could be changed to characterize her more evil aspect, with Mommy Mearest actually being the one hopping into the final section, except this time, instead of just trying to kill Ultra M with a gun, she just slowly ruins the cartridge with a fork to make sure Ultra M suffers as his entire world is being brought into nothingness.

besides the vocals being weird, it’s ok, the good ending good but it could stay a little bit of the same, the not hearing gf getting abducted is cool and the act 3 is very creative since gf isn’t there it’s basically fighting their corrupted versions but something that is out of place a little bit is pico, act 1, and the vocals, that’s all but honestly this is pretty epic and you did amazing, u have achieved Creative Points
