My personal theory: When Thomas was on deployment, he had a traumatic experience in a cave, like an ambush clearing an enemy hideout or something. So when he returned, he had to take meds to handle his trauma, and at some point, Flameguy Jr asked him to explore the cave together, since they seemed to be close friends, and Thomas had the experience, and the equipment to do so, and would be a good guide. So while in the cave, Junior might have done something like accidentally scaring Thomas or pranking him, which made his trauma kick in, striking him. So Thomas thought he killed Junior, then ran away home and locked himself in, overwhelmed with guilt and grief, his drugged up mind gaslighting him to believe he actually killed the kid, so he started taking more meds to cope with it, unaware that Jr was actually fine all along.

The Chinese music in world 1 is actually a clip of a song used in a game, where you "save China" by fighting people, and the game is known for using an actual dead person ib the gameover. The music was a clip of some song the dev of this game (forgot the name) found it on his shelf, and decided to use it. To clarify, not the dev of this Roblox game, but the game mentioned near the start of the comment. I did not watch the video yet, so don't imprison me if it is mentioned at like 3:53 or something

Fun fact; Thomas's friends in the "real life" world aren't always the versions we see from the happy world, they can also show up as more realistic people (e.g, zekery has an afro rather than a bucket, and flameguy actually has hair and no fire on his arms) This is from my experience, however, and maybe you did something different that caused them to remain in their "happy world" form, but i just thought I'd share that info :]

small personal theory: Thomas hangout with Flame Jr and went in a cave AND MAYBE, before Thomas even hung out with Jr, he actually been taking 'meds' that Flameguy provides and just so MAYBE because of the drugs it cause him to act weirdly and accidentally attacks Jr. Because of this guilt, harming a child, he starts to hallucinate and doing so taking more and more and more drugs. I would like to think that, Thomas died because of the drugs he was given, and the guilt and things caused him plenty of things, sadly possible that Thomas didn't survive from the OD and the scene where flameguy and Jr were at a flower might be where they have remorse of Thomas

I spent alot of time trying to figure out the lore behind all this and suddenly THIS video appeared on my front page. To be honest? I'm confused, but not in a bad way. Here are some of my theories about the game: 1. Whenever you get to the point in the game where Thomas is by the grave, the reason why its even there in the first place is because his mind is trying to convince Thomas that he has done something so bad and that he does not want to know about it, like murdering a child for example. 2. Flameguy is the dealer for Thomas. After Thomas hurt flameguy's son, Thomas asked flameguy if he has anything to ease the pain, in which flameguy gave him the meds because he felt so bad for him. 3. The "spawn" part of the game is again, Thomas trying to convince himself that he is just like everyone else and that everything will stay the same no matter what, even if he did hurt a kid 4. The heaven part of the game is where Thomas thinks that Flameguy Jr is ok now and he wont get hurt again, which is why there are clouds there, to represent "heaven". And the floor breaking is his mind trying to say that its too late for Flameguy Jr to be safe, and he already has been hurt before and it might happen again

If i am correct the heaven part is where its interpreted that Thomas thinks Flame went to heaven and Thomas went to hell (there was a wall of text saying hell) and thats where Thomas died of DO and went to hell or something. Thomas was given many choices to accept forgiveness but he decided to overdose himself to escape this guiltiness. Those light shining things can be angels or something.

Got an ending where they flame guy and the other people werent cartoony roblox characters but actual people and flameguy had burn scars on his arns while you play as thomas as your screen slowly darkens before it turns completely black and a you get kicked with a message that says "to be continued"

As someone in the horror genre as a writer This is one of the best roblox games I have ever heard of in terms of lore. Short and dark, sure, but I got real chills from it

the spawn symbol is something you didn't look at nearly as much as i believe you should have. it was all over the ground in lost spawns, you walk into it in hallucinations, everyone in spawn, even the manifestation of drugs had it, thomas had it in HAPPYHAPPY, HEAVENHEAVEN, and HELLHELL, but it disappears in we forgive you, including for the manifestation. it also appears in guilt to teleport you to hallucinations the symbol is a symbol for something. death would make sense with what spawn points do, and it's always associated with black or black clothing (funeral clothing btw) before thomas himself dies the playable character of spawn is probably thomas with how the drugs are seen and call to thomas when the character comes. the town is probably real but extremely hallucinated and the drugs in the cave are the stash that thomas was looking for the reason thomas loses it i have no idea the position where thomas ruined flameguy junior's face might be either where the grave/flower is or at the cave, it's unable to know for sure imo

YOU'RE SO RIGHT MB 😭😭 also HUGE info dump about the spawn symbol (very fire)- my personal take on it is that it shows up when Thomas is completely drugged out of his mind. in the first world & hallucinations, he's still functional (albiet still sorta out of it), and he doesn't have it there. but as you said, it shows up in SPAWN, CAVE, HAPPYHAPPY, HEAVENHEAVEN, HELLHELL- all points in the game where Thomas is clearly drugged out. I agree with the death take here! Thomas is basically condemned to die the moment he ODs, which is when the spawn symbol shows up. Thomas probably loses it because he's sober just before he enters the afterlife- no drugged out, no spawn point. and real about the grave/flower/cave point, i also think theres not enough evidence to have a definitive conclusion for where flameguy jr was exactly injured

I have a really depressing theory about the We Forgive You part. When you reach it, it is EXACTLY the same place as HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY, the same place you go after Thomas presumably located his "secret stash" and took the drugs. Who takes you to HAPPY at the end of the cave? That multicolored figure you see at the end. But in this video, it plays out differently than it does now (which has been noted, INP said he made this video before the game was updated). So, that figure, who I'll just call Happy Face (we can see the "meds" Thomas takes are called the same name, Happy Face is the incarnation of the drugs afflicting Thomas' mind), delivers you your drugs in the cave and lets you retreat to your HAPPY place, endless rainbow rooms, just like We Forgive You. And what do you see at the end of We Forgive You? Happy Face embracing Thomas (who, notably, still looks depressed). Next, you wake up to the real world, with your friends finding you OD'ing and trying to get you to the hospital. Then you see the hospital. Thomas didn't make it. He died. And who is there, alongside his grieving friends? Happy Face, ghostlike, wearing that same distorted smile Thomas had during HAPPY. That entire speech in We Forgive You wasn't Thomas' friends forgiving him for what he did to Jr, at least not at that exact moment. It was Happy Face, well, trying to make Thomas Happy. All of it was fake, it was made to make him hear what he wanted to hear, right before he had to say "goodbye". Right before the trip ended. Right before he perished. And can I just add on how perfectly heart wrenching the ending is? After hopping from world to world, or I suppose from one hallucination to another, all you're left with in the end is the empty Real World. All of Thomas' friends have gone. All that remains is his house. His hat rests on the couch he OD'd in. Jr left him a "get well soon" note on his bed, alongside a teddy. The note even ends in a horrible "we all miss you." And of course, all the photos of Thomas hanging out with his friends. And there is no portal, no way to continue the story, because this is simply it. You're stuck here, in this empty, somber place that used to house good memories, but now only gives you sadness. The only message in this world comes from its game description/achievement, a terribly bittersweet "you're finally at peace now Thomas". Its so...unsatisfactory, but in a good way, because that's the point. All you're left with is sadness and yearning for more, wishing for a better outcome, a better ending, because it reflects how this happens in real life, the exact message the game is trying to convey. This game serves as a warning as to how badly drug abuse can end. All your friends who cared for you so deeply will have lost someone dear to them, and all that will be left is an empty space, a vacant house, that cannot ever be refilled.
