The castle theme on the first super mario bro's used to scare me so bad as a kid, I'd have to turn the sound down on the tv. My heart would start racing, and I'd panic and die otherwise. I think thats my first memory of how powerful music and sound could be.

NSMB was the first Mario game I ever got, every time I went into a castle level I’d be so scared, the music surely didn’t help either, same goes for the towers.

Castles intimidated me cuz the level just felt aggressive, towers on the other hand were those that actually creeped me, specially at the last part of the melody, I wasn't used to vertical levels, Dry Bones' invincibility made my heart beat fast whenever I saw one

New DS and SM64 DS were the first games that got me in to Super Mario, as well as MKDS. I rarely played New DS when I was younger though, so young me sadly never heard this theme untill I played Mario Super Sluggers' Bowser's Castle
