I’ve always liked the castle themes for making the player know they are going into uncharted territory, with lava, traps, and the Koopaling or boss at the end

I couldn't imagine the New Super Mario bros (DS) castle theme in any other new super mario bros game. It just wouldn't fit (unless it was given the same sounds as the wii, then MAYBE)

The music from the bob-omb fire minigame in NSMB DS is a remix of the original castle theme from SMB, so why wasn't that here?

NSMB Wii, NSMB2, and NSMBU had the same castle themes (except NSMB2 that has bahs on it). btw, i prefer SMW and NSMB DS.

The Super Mario world theme I think is so good like you feel like your a hero going through a fake castle and then you see that glimmer of hope the rest are good as well but doesn’t capture that same feeling only one I didn’t like really at all was new super Mario bros ds it’s just way to high pitched and I’m guessing that’s just cause of the tech at the time

Some people say Yoshi's Island isn't really a Mario game because Yoshi is the main protaganist. And it's the first chronological time Mario meets Bowser, so there was no experience until, release-wise, Mario fights Bowser starting from Super Mario Bros. back in 1985.
