For those arguing these referees are "soft"..consider this... This is their full time jobs..that they get paid to do to provide for their families (like most normal humans)... That said, like all our jobs they are given specific directives on what kind of actions to punish and what kind to not. It is clear to me that FIBA has made it a point of empasis with the referees that coaches who step on the court while aruging calls are to be given technical fouls....So they must abide to keep their jobs that provides for their families...This sentiment rings true in all professional sports...so before you jump to call them soft and crazy, remember their is always a governing body directing them what to do and these referees are just humans doing a job the best they can.

5:00 It's amazing how players and coaches can go all the way to the world cup, and don't know the rules for subbing
@siriusshin47679 ай бұрын
You are absolutely right. last 2 minutes before the end of the game, a player may be substituted for the opposing team that scored the goal.

It is amazing how officials miss a three step travel before the player dribbles in the same play.
@hugolayup2682Ай бұрын
@@kwokano point in calling that, the travel gives no advantage and there is 1 min left in the 4th quarter

If there is a technical foul when the shot clock shows a)under b) over 14 seconds against the defending team in the front court. How does the shot reset, or not? Cant find it in the rules 😢
@einargun Жыл бұрын
If player A1 is in frontcourt and B1 gets technical foul with under 14 sec. Shot clock is reset to 14sec. If the shot clock shows more than 14sec it stays the same.

Reset

You'd want to read the FIBA interpretations for scenarios. FIBA rules will only tell you the basics
@the_joker70207 ай бұрын
If you want to read it in the rules. its Article 29.2.2; 29.2.4 if the T was on the team in control of the ball (no reset)

american basketball fan here, sorry if this is a dumb question. Why do the coaches yell toward the scorer's table half the time after they get a technical?
@einargun Жыл бұрын
I remember one time the coach got a T because he was annoyed he didn´t get a substitution or timeout and yelled at the table officials. But in most cases they are not yelling at them but more into "the air" or at the ref they are unhappy with.
@enstage3821 Жыл бұрын
FIBA games often have a few important people on the scorebench: the game commissioner, replay operator and/or fourth official (sometimes replay operator and fourth official are the same person). This is probably who they are yelling at.
I hate technical fouls for holding on to the rim after a dunk. It's part of the entertainment, and let the guys have their fun.
@einargun5 ай бұрын
It´s no fun for audience and players if the basket breaks down. 🙂 So we want players to limit hang time unless to safe them or others from getting injured.
@cosnyaxtros18218 ай бұрын
@einargun8 ай бұрын
Buena pregunta. Algunos entrenadores sienten que ese es su trabajo. Incluso cuando se equivocan.
