I just got into e-boards back in Nov 2020. It's something I always wanted to try but being 49 years old I was a bit nervous about it! Anyway, I took the plunge and absolutely LOVE it. On the plus side it's 100% easier than it might seem. Last time I was on a skateboard was in the late 1980's so it's nice to be ripping it up again! I just bought my second board and it should be here soon 👍🏻

Same here brother!! Up here in the bay, guys were using it to get to the job site from parking out in the back 40. I am the same age and was skeptical but I tried my buddies and the rest is history. Love it and brings all those memories back in the 80’s! 👍🏽

I know I’m a bit late to the party here, but I’m in the exact same situation. 49 years old, ex-skater but haven’t ridden since the 90’s. I’ve been watching e-skate reviews almost as a hobby since 3 years ago, but was always afraid to pull the trigger because I know I don’t have the same agility & balance (I know this because I did try to get back into skating and immediately fell and cracked my arm). So like you, I had the same questions around safety. So thank you for inspiring me. What did you end up getting?

@@shanksworthy I ended up with a backfire Zealot S. Two of them actually. I was having so much fun I didn't want to wait around while it's charging. Nowadays I find myself wanting a bit more range so I'm taking a hard look at the Zeus from Ownboard. A friend of mine bought that one and it rides like a dream! In fact, it's so stable that when I'm riding it I'll glance at the remote and find myself shocked that I'm doing 30mph. It's that smooth of a ride with 120mm wheels. Technology is improving all the time and the prices are becoming more and more reasonable as time goes on but I'm still wanting a Zeus or even the new Zeus Pro.

@@loganewing1607 the board has held up pretty good. Just wear and tear on the wheels, which I probably should replace soon. Full disclosure, I rode it a lot better but recently haven’t rode in a while

I will be 65 soon / my WOWGO 2 was the bomb, I used it at Road Atlanta pre COVID and it was a blast, I ended up trading for a Juiced City Scrambler with a much younger user.... was safer but , have since SOLD that too, as my preferences are for a more powerful better handling BEAST. The BEST is yet to come 🧿

Hey man just a youngster here but I say go for the BEAST the main thing is wrist guards and knowing how to fall, Tony hawk is in his 60s and he may not skate as hard but he's still going strong.

Thanks for the great review. I would love to see a similar review with the pneumatic wheels. As an older rider, I think the pneumatic wheels will offer a bit safer (ie: more relaxed) ride over cracks, rocks, etc.

I still love my Evolve GTX, 18650 LHB battery mod incoming. The only warranty claim I had on my Evolve was for a new charge port. Maybe a Backfire Zealot next on my list. Any thoughts of showing the e-board garage?

you should do a review on the ownboard bamboo, because I'm choosing that board or the wowgo, they both got same batteries and similar motors however you got 15 miles and the review on the ownboard I have seen they got 26 miles.

I have problems with my wowgo 3X and the customer support was terrible. This one seems great and priced well but around 2,5 months to get it takes it out of the equation. 45-50 business days...I can walk from Europe to China in that time..

I currently own the wowgo3 I'm planning on upgrading to a belt driven board but not sure if I should get the at2 I live in u.s.a and hate to wait a long time for a part and also does anyone know of a better board around the same price as the at2 also does the at2 air wheels pop easy? There's always glass and things that can pop a tire would hate for them to pop and have to carry that heavy board around

you have the REDUX version. 417wh battery, branded front truck. This is NOT how it was released. Mine came with a 504wh battery, unbranded front truck. First my unbranded front truck got destroyed on a curb. (sent a BRANDED truck) then my 504 wh battery died. So they sent the 417wh battery. There you have your REDUX. Top speed is 24mph only in Turbo mode. 22 in mode 3. not to mention that once you invoke turbo you you completely kill the battery. Prove me wrong. BTW I still "like" my AT2. but...

This board is Ok but to put it in higher tier is completely misleading, this is a BUDGET AT capable board, one of the best and premium in it category but still Budget. Give WOWGO credit they even market themself as top notch Budget . The price range of esk8 in 2021 (not toys) are from 400$ up to 5500$. Mid tier only kicks in around 1500 and up to 3K everything above is considered top tier.
