I regard Tolkien as the greatest writer of the English language. My father is lifelong fan, my grandfather was a fan, and I am a fanatic reader as well. Tolkien is truly one of the greatest storytellers and world-weavers ever to write and every time I hear you guys sing a song from his poetry I do think he would be honored that his poems have been brought to life in such a way. It keeps his work alive. I have never been anything less than completely satisfied by your guys' work. Keep it up, it brings a tear to my eye every time.

"In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! We are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory. Farewell!" - Last words of Aragorn, son of Arathorn, King Elessar of the realms of Men. "Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! For all you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"- Aragorn, son of Arathorn, addressing the assembled forces of Gondor and Rohan shortly before the Battle of the Black Gate. Do you understand deep truths? That is what this song is about.
@abj136
@abj136 5 жыл бұрын
Whence do these verses arise? Verse one was by Bilbo after he first learned the truth of Strider, Aragorn. The second verse was recited to the Council by Boromir, who heard its message in a dream, though he did not understand it. The verses are prophesy and hope, sent to them as a guide. I like to think of it as a chorus in a Classical play, singing out to the stage and the audience, "Take heart, though things look bleak now, the king will return, will take up the sword, and a hobbit will bring the victory!"

In a Day of Wrath shall come A Prince Anointed; Chosen From The Wounded, Broken Race of Men To lead the sheep to peace again In his form was seen no splendor Yet love burned in his heart so tender Heart wounded from the cross of Christ In whom the Father brings to light Things hidden by the sands of time Things buried by the darkened mind And in this son of Adam’s race Shines light divine in creature’s face For but a week have the worlds spun With countless ages still to come All human kingdoms crushed to dust To stand anew- reborn and just. For it was spoken long ago That when the sun of justice rose Not only would the Great King reign For Christ’s planting was not in vain. So Vine bursts forth from divine Root That all might taste of Jacob’s fruit First from the river; then to the Sea In which the stars sail mightily In this late morning; and on sixth day. Let us cast not our hope away Redemption full; redeemed still young The lump to be leavened in ages to come.

Tolkien seemed like such a positive guy with the story and songs he crafted with loving care. Especially with ideas of searching for who we are, while not being afraid to be sidetracked on our own journeys. His world shall always be my favorite in the wide genre of fantasy.

The womans part beginning at 3:50 is awesome. I found out the chords for this part: Am, Dm, G, F, G, Am
@gianni.sacciloto
@gianni.sacciloto 5 жыл бұрын
I'm almost sure that the voice at 3:50 belongs to a young male, not a woman. If you listen to "Lament for Boromir", there is a verse in that music that is sung by a very very similar voice.

@@peculiarpangolin4638 You're a moron. It is a male who hasn't lost the ability to sing that high. Ever heard of the Irish Tenors or that one well known choir of boys? There are people (males; men) who don't lose that ability for a long time.

As someone who suffers from profound self esteem issues and Depression , loves Swords and Fire and is literally named Crown (While believing that no one who desires self glorification should deserve power) , this song hits me .Lines like "a Fire shall be woken" , "a Light from the Shadows" , "renewed shall be Blade that was broken" and "the Crownless again shall be King" truly make me feel strongly .Like there is Hope for me and my brethren to be restored and revindicated from where we were thrown .

there is always hope so give not unto despair instead look unto the love of others and seek courage for the few who need you most. Listen not to fear instead hear your heart beat and let it sound line a horn and may it ring long and deep into the dark. See the night welcome it but when its time comes cast it out and bring forth the light.

I had my first cerimony of Ayahuasca last friday. Here in Brazil, when the Universe touches and speaks with you through the tea, we say that we are On The Force. And it is so similiar to the Jedi's Force, it is unbelivable how strong, confident, amorous and peacefull you feel. Connected with the archetypes, the Eagle, The Jaguar, The Warrior. I looked to the sky, with billions of stars, all connected in those zodiac's lines, I felt the earth, the mud and the grass and my foot made by the same elements. I felt the energy of Earth coming through my veins, it was the best sensation in the world. And then I started to sing to my self (and my ego) this poem, my favourite poem by Tolkien. It is so potent, so real, so magic. I wanna meet him in the spiritual world when I pass and thank him by everything he wrote. When I was younger and was a lonely and bullied child, I used to hide in his world. I'm now an strong, beautiful and independent man, a lawyer and business man and I own him many things. DEEP ROOTS ARE NOT REACHED BY THE FROST. NEVER FORGET IT!
