"As they sang, I felt the love of beautiful things made by cunning and by magic arise within me. A fierce and jealous love, the desire of the hearts of dwarves. It must've been something Tookish waking up inside me, for I wished to see the great mountains. And to see pine trees and waterfalls, and to carry a sword instead of a walking stick. Through the window, I could see the stars in the dark sky, and I thought of the jewels of the dwarves in their dark caverns. Suddenly in the wood beyond the water, a flame leapt up. Probably someone lighting a wood fire, then I thought of plundering dragons settling on my quiet hill, and kindling it all to flames...ugh..." ~Bilbo Baggins

If you look at the horizon while hearing this song, almost seems like you can actually see it... far away, surrounded in mist, the Lonely Mountain... where the Dwarves once reigned, where the rivers flowed golden in wealth. And then you feel it, calling you, to freed it from the Dragon, to restore the King to its ancient Throne. Some music makes you close to the Heavens. Your interpretation of this masterpiece makes us truly close to Middle Earth. Thank you. Dolzekh menu.

Hello, I leave this comment here for everyone who wants to know all of the original poems/song by JRR Tolkien used in this grandious song. Since Clammavis De Profundis sadly didn't name all of them. Infact they named two out of 5 different poems/songs 0:57 Far over the Misty Mauntains Cold (from The Hobbit, sang by the Dwarfs in Bilbos home) - 9 verses of 10 6:50 Song of Durin (parts of it) (from Fellowship of the Ring, Gimli sang it in Moria) - 2 verses of 6 9:03 Far over the Misty Mountains Cold (continuation) - 1 verse last verse of the 10 9:45 The wind was withered on the hearth (from the Hobbit, sang in Beorns house) - 6 verses of 6 13:02 Under the mountain dark and tall (from the Hobbit, sang by the Dwarfs before the battle of 5 armies) - 7 verses of 7 18:01 Farewell We Call to Hearth and Hall! (from Fellowship of the Ring, sang by Merry and Pippin around the part where the Nazgul nearly found the Hobbits) - 5 verses of 5

Of course, the fact Tolkien penned most of the lyrics is utterly lost on most of the idiots in the comments, and it does not surprise me that the singers, good as they were did not credit the actual author properly...... But perhaps I am being cynical? Maybe? Stealing someone else's work is still stealing someone else's work.... I have no issues with it if it is credited properly. But... was not was it?

As the song begins, you hear a deep feeling in the pit of your stomach. Not a bad feeling, but a feeling of pure bliss. As the song slowly progresses, the feeling slowly spreads up through your body. You look up from your screen, only to find that you are no longer in your bedroom, however, you are in a tunnel, just 5 feet tall. You look down, only to see that your screen is gone, replaced by your leathery hands. Even though your screen is gone, the music is still playing. You peer around a dark corner and see that in a room at the end of the hallway, a firey light flickers. You begin making your way down the hall. You feel the feeling begin spreading into your fingertips, spreading to the very edges of your body, ready to burst like a balloon. The feeling is now euphoric, as you take those few last steps into the room, almost running. You burst into the room, the song now playing at full volume of the 13 voices that now surround you. All small, grimy, worn down dwarves. You hear a loud, heavy step behind you, you look behind you to see a man, staff in hand, with a gray outfit, with a beard of gray decorating his chin. You realize that your feet are slowly becoming colder, you peer down, only to realize that your shoes are gone, replaced by the bare skin of feet that you do not recognize. You look behind you and realize that the tunnel seems much larger. A realization hits you like a truck, you are in the skin of a hobbit. You sprint to the nearest window and recognize the scene from a movie somewhere... You can't remember it, as the song finishes, you turn around, and the most dignified-looking dwarf hands you a long scroll, asking for you to read it before accompanying him... You take the scroll, reluctantly, and he points you to a window to your left. You peer out the window, and in the distance, you see a range of mountains. You look beyond those mountains, and see a vague shape farther back, higher than all the other mountains, you realize that it is hundreds of miles further. Even shrouded in mist, you realize that it is the very mountain being sung about. The home of the dwarf, The Lonely Mountain.

As much as I love fantasy series such as A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) and The Witcher, Lord of the Rings has always carried a special place in my heart. I remember the first time reading the books after watching the movies and felt so amazed that I began to realize this series as being not only the best Fantasy series ever created, but easily one of the greatest stories I’ve ever seen and read. There isn’t a single day where I never think about a series such as Lord of the Rings, and yes I have read a bunch of Stephen King and George RR Martin stories. While I love those two authors to death for what they have created, Tolkien is on a whole other level of someone truly special. I’m glad Fantasy as a genre exists for not only someone like me who is looking at becoming a screenwriter, but for others who want to escape reality and enter a fantastic world such as Middle-earth!

He would read the letters to his comrades, and they would be able to sleep peacefully amidst the terror of the trench. Awesome song. It is so haunting. Deep and soothing, slow and steady

This reminds me of reconstructed tellings of the Iliad and the Odyssey. The speaker chants along in a repetitive tune and basically sings the story as a simple melody in order to keep the meter and remember the words. I bet Tolkien knew that

All those who in their heart can understand the dwarves have chills, this is awesome. I imagine this, to be sung in Middle Earth to a ceremony to be as a gift to fallen Dwarf heroes and remember and respect their memory, I can see moria freed and in Khazad doom, dwarf clerics(sorry, here comes my imagination from dungeons and dragons game) start the melody, and Dwarven paladins and fighters sing it to respect the memory of Thorin and Durin.
