Josh Leitzel I distinctly remember this song being one of the first "extreme metal" songs that I ever heard that I really liked. That chorus is just beautiful, and it's amazing how well it goes with the aggressive element. This beauty and the beast balance is something I still look for in my metal these days, even though I generally don't listen to music with cleans, anymore. But the melodies are still there, mixed in with the more aggressive riffing. If you could just listen to this enough times to gain an appreciation for what's good about it, you're already on your way~~

That... makes 0 sense. All That Remains' old stuff has some of the harshest screaming out there, at least when talking about very, very clean / prominent screams, and not raspy wannabe stuff or pig squealing. I'm pretty sure if you like these kinds of songs, there'll be a ton of other bands out there that you'll like. Bands like Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, etc etc. All of the mainstream stuff is VERY similar to this in their styling. All That Remains is one of the harsher of all of these bands..
