@@420jacksonian Well, not everyone. Pretty much just men. Women rarely go looking for a man after winning a lottery. Statics prove that. Women just don't need a man when they are independently wealthy and they don't like sharing. That's just how they are hardwired.

I think that Children should be raised by their own parent's, and not the government. If the child passed the scuba diving test's, and he loved Shark's, why shouldn't he be able to see them under the supervision of both of his parents' and other supervisor's? He had instructions for the dive, and he will remember that experience for the rest of his life! Hopefully he will Learn More about Them and how man is driving them to extinction! He was in a supervised situation and got to see wildlife in the Ocean and in it's Glory, a Once In A Lifetime Experience! The lad was Lucky! 😊

First off a 5 year old boy really!!! Putting a child that young in the water, even with the somewhat protection of a shark cage, among hungry creature notorious for feeding off human flesh is extremely stupid and call into question the safety of the child with those parents. Even if they are his biological parents, taking that sort of risk with their son is high inappropriate and I hope social services review this incident as a possible reason to separate the boy from those thrill seekers. Now onto shark cages. Even the best shark cages in the world have been known to fail. Just take a look at the shark cage in the first Jaws movie. It failed due to the shear mass of the shark was just too much for the cage and that shark dimensions was taken from a real shark that was caught. Now add to that the fact anyone can produce a shark cage and there are no real guidelines for making a safe shark cage. There are no certification for them, anyone can make one. That does not mean they should. Epic failures have been reported due too weak of construction to the holes in the cage being too big. Bet the 5 year old parents did not even know that before they risked the life of their 5 year old. When I was 5 years old my attention span was not fully developed to the point where I listened and understood potential dangers. A lot of 5 year olds are like that. The are very prone to take huge risk for the sake of exploring and know nothing of the dangers around them even when told of them. That's why a responsible parent should not put a child that young in harms way. It is their job to make sure they are protected from harmful situations. Not to put them in a situation that would make a rated R movie. What if the horrible thing went wrong and the 5 year old see first hand a person eaten alive right in front him. It would scar him emotionally for life. I was 11 years old when I saw Jaws and it gave me Thalassophobia, a phobia of an intense fear of huge body of water especially ones you cant see the bottom of. My fear centers around not knowing if I will be the next one of the menu for some of these creatures. I think snorkeling should be restricted to 12 years and up and scuba for 16 years and up. Give the kids a chance to be kids before they get into the water where they become part of the food chain.

Reeled in a Skate in Alaska that was over 200lbs. The charter captain said it was uncommon to get them at that size. I don't know if that was true one way or the other though

I was snorkeling in the Galapagos when from the foggy depths ahead of me I saw a group of large “fish” slowly swimming in my direction. As the group got closer and I realized they were going to swim beneath m, and I froze. There, about 20’ below swam 9 hammer headed sharks. They ignored me and my swimming buddy and disappeared behind us, back into the mist. Cool.
