I would never normally enjoy anyone filming themselves eating an endangered species...IMO, there are some significant differences between this guy & his 1 fish vs. some of the other ppl I've seen doing it. This fish wasn't caught by long lines, trawler boat or anything else that is actually doing irreparable harm to our seas. There is nothing wrong with a man & a fishing pole or spear gun getting a few fish to feed their family/village, they are not the reason our oceans are in serious trouble...it is in taking ENTIRE schools + killing thousands more in by-catch/ignoring catch limits on species & illegal fishing in places that designated sanctuaries. This fish wasn't bought for pennies, then being shipped off to a foreign country to be sold to the highest bidder to feed wealthy businessmen bc they think it offers some Xtra potency in the bedroom. This guy said he was going to share some of the filets with ppl on his island that wanted to also try it. Anyway...that's just how I see it. Lots of fishermen are out of jobs...if we put them back to work, fishing like they do for Bluefin now, just a few lines at a time & charge more for it so some ppl aren't relying on it 3 meals a day & let our oceans heal for a few years...or do something else, but just do SOMETHING! I digress, sorry, I just really worry about them, but I don't think this guy's the problem. ♥️✌🏼🦈

@@DeReAntiqua would you lay off it. We get it, it’s endangered. If you don’t like the video, then don’t watch it. Just because something is endangered does NOT mean it’s illegal or unethical to hunt/fish it. I’ve seen you on 3 separate comments that have NOTHING to do with this and I’m sure there’s more. As long as laws are followed, there is nothing wrong with what he is doing. Laws are made with input from EXPERTS in the field of conservation and fishing. Humans hunting and fishing within laws HELP conservation of wildlife. And I say this as someone who HATES both hunting and fishing. Get off your high horse. If it bothers you so much, then find a Save the Napoleon Fish charity to help out! Let other people enjoy what they want to enjoy, you are the type of psycho, aggressive activist that makes the actual good ones the butt of every joke. You don’t come from a place of wanting to educate about a topic you genuinely feel passionate about. You just want to ridicule and belittle others for not sharing your view of the “evil, evil man” in the video. Until you know how to be a positive, PRODUCTIVE activist, you should be advocating for anyone but yourself.

@@DeReAntiqua countries ARE allowed to make their own laws you know. As long as the actions taken DO NOT leave the boarders i. Which i5bis legal, then it IS legal. If the fish was sent to another country, it would then become ILLEGAL. That IS NOT the case here. That’s why certain things like smoking weed and different drinking ages can be acceptable in one place and outlawed in another. There are different levels of law. You obviously don’t know a damned thing. In the US laws are broken down by local, state, and federal levels. What is legal at a local level cannot be brought to a state or federal court so long as it DOES NOT leave the borders in which it is local. Same goes to international laws. As long as the actions in question happen WITHIN THE BORDERS WERE IT IS LEGAL it CANNOT be brought to an international court. You’re just screaming into a void looking for validation for being “so kind and conscientious towards conservation efforts” when all you’re doing is sticking your opinion where it is neither asked for nor wanted. Like I said, people like you make those who ACTUALLY do good works look bad, so knock it off. If your so upset, then go make a petition or join a group for advocating changes. But don’t make your lack of knowledge on laws and how they work other people’s problems. As much as I hate hunting and fishing, I would RATHER a hunted animal’s meat be consumed because than it didn’t die for nothing. And don’t bring up ivory or other bs like that. Eating food where it is legal to eat it is VASTLY DIFFERENT than smuggling contraband across borders.

Google answer for blue fish flesh and blood: Although it is extremely rare, some fish can occasionally have blue flesh. This is caused by a bile pigment called biliverdin that turns the fish’s blood serum blue. The blue color will dissipate once the fish is cooked. Biliverdin is also the pigment responsible for the bluish color sometimes seen in bruises.

I was amazed at how beautiful these are out of the water, Blue Planet really doesn’t do them justice. That slime though 😱. I’m like ‘rinse the fish, Man, rinse it off!’
I don't even understand what this man is saying and yet I am mesmerized by the blue fish. Every minute is riveting. I constantly think to myself, what else will be blue in this very colorful fish?

omg!! hes been talking about a napoleon fish for a while!! so happy its finally happening!!
In the early 90's, I used to dive in the Red Sea and Gulf of Eilat. I found these guys all the time. My buddy and I would take a net bag of boiled eggs with us on reef dives to feed the Rasse Napoleons. They are fast swimmers. I used to have a highlighter yellow racket ball attached to my BC cord. A Napoleon mistaked it for an egg and hit me like mike tyson. He knocked my mask off and respirator went flying out of my mouth. Took me a moment to get oriented again...lol. Beautiful fish all the same.

That's the fish that when there's a shortage of male fish, a female will transform themselves from a female fish to a scary Rosie O'Donnell fish. {0.o} 😦🤣

I love the fact that even though we all are from different countries and cultures, as humans, we all love to watch this kind of stuff late at night before falling asleep. It has become a habit of mine to watch videos of this man before going to sleep lol, when it is very late at night and I have to go to sleep, it just doesnt feel right to close my eyes without having watched a video of a japanese man cutting fishes. It has been like that the last week, I search this channel at 5am and look for videos with the most surreal fishes in the thumbnail. Like, dude, what is that blue fish? Its just SO BLUE. Not only its fins, but also its innards and blood, its amazing that species like this exist... I love this man, he is so cool, I just know him by what the subtitles say, but I wish I knew him in real life 😢

I love watching these videos before bed. I've seen every single one that had an English sub. Kinda funny I live in the desert and watch him fish and the last video was him eating the scorpions we have here. Google translate will probably butcher this comment too but oh well.

Napoleon fish are considered endangered around the world. Although this was interesting to see, a giant like this would've been better left in the ocean as they are not as good eating as 4-10kg ones. Good video masaru ❤️

Masaru didn't catch it himself - it's likely it was brought in as an accidental capture from a deep sea fishing boat or otherwise and needed someone who could make use of it.
