I didn’t love The Only Good Indians but I really liked the ending. Definitely one of the better horror endings I’ve read. I think you’re right-the more I think about The Good House’s ending, the more I like it! It was just so unexpected in the moment but seems perfect for the story upon reflection.

Glad The Good House worked so well and wasn't graphically violent! I'll have to add that to my list.

So happy you loved Only Good Indians, such an awesome book, SGJ is easily one of my fav authors currently. Ill add Dues book to my TBR, need to read The Reformatory by them but Historical horror is my fav genre so I think Ill love it

Love to see that your spooky season so so exceptional!! I loved The Reformatory so I really need to get to The Good House asap. And Oathbringer has been my favourite from the start, so welcome to the fanclub heheheh My standouts of October were my reread of Mistborn Era 2 (with the first read of The Lost Metal), 11/22/63 by King, books 2 and 3 in Daniel Barnett's Nightmareland Chronicles (HIGHLY recommend) and my re-read of The Way of Kings. 🤩

I am still so so happy The Lost Metal worked for you!

DAMN, that was a good month for you. I hadn't realized how stacked it had been from the weekly check ins, that's awesome. Mine was ok. I didn't read anything bad but I didn't read anything ground breaking either. My best read of the month ended up being Blindsight, which was pretty good
@LiteratureScienceAllianceАй бұрын
Yea I don't think I realized how stacked it was until I looked at it all at once myself lol

🎄too soon? 😁 I have Juniper & Thorn downloaded per your intriguing recommendation! I love switching up reading genres it keeps things fresh! I love always finding new rabbit holes to go down 👍

Amazed by your ability to film these without cuts. I always have a billion pauses in my videos haha

I just talk too much lol I think practice and teaching have helped me just deal with my mistakes in real time that don't make me feel like I need to edit them out 99% of the time 😅

🎄🌲🌳 Yess, happy to see more Oathbringer love! It is my favorite of the series so far (though part of that is probably cause I am a Dalinar fan). :) Glad you had a good reading month in October! Hope you have a fun November too!
@LiteratureScienceAllianceАй бұрын
Yea Dalinar is not as big a sell for me lol one of the things I like about Rhythm of War is its less focused on him 😅
@saturnhas-rings5611Ай бұрын
@@LiteratureScienceAlliance That's ok, I know he isn't everyone cup of tea, he just has a lot of things about him that I like XD

LOVE that October was such a strong reading month for you. I did my reread of The Oleander Sword in October too and that series is SO under rated and under hyped I don't understand, it's so good.

The Only Good Indians still has the distinction of being one of the only books to scare me. When the main character of the first section sees Buffalo Calf Woman through the slats of a passing train, my stomach dropped. 🌳

🌲🌲🌲What an amazingly stacked reading month! I think the best book I read in October was The Seventh Veil of Salome by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
@LiteratureScienceAllianceАй бұрын
Have you read other Silvia Moreno-Garcia?? And if so which one did this read like to you. I have a mixed relationship with her works unfortunately
@CityGirlWriterАй бұрын
@ This is my first! I would assume it could be leaning towards Silver Nitrate since both books are about the film industry 🤷🏾🤷🏾🤷🏾
