Great job doing this video. I think most of the prices on those that you showed were about 15% high in the real car world. But Carlisle gets a lot of foot traffic, so I don't blame them for the high sticker prices.

Once again, great video. Loved the old guy with the 55 Chevy explaining things. I’m not a truck guy either, but that red 1976 Chevy short bed was a good value. That GTX is going to need a TON of work. I’ll keep my $8,500 looking forward to your next video!!

Good job Parker. I’m at Barrett Jackson in New Orleans for weekend. It’s looking like a used car lot down here. It appears a lot of cars got pulled from this auction. We should have gone to Carlisle. Great video…thanks for keeping us updated. Take care. Mike

I was thrilled that you featured a '64 Riviera in this episode. Bill Mitchell designed a true classic, and this one is a nice example. Thank you for pointing out that only the first two years featured the dual side-by-side headlights ('63-'64). It should have the 425 ci nailhead motor as well. Even with the wire wheel covers, $31k is a good price! (I'd be tempted, but wife says no way!)

I guess I should take my rare low build classic cars to Carlisle and see how much silliness $$ I can attract with any of them.
@paulricelli55207 ай бұрын
🟥 What do you have?
@dewholdingsllc10507 ай бұрын
Those prices for project cars is ridiculous but I guess I know where I can sell something for silly money. I think classic car market is going soft in 2023. My weekly street cruiser is a survivor I recently rescued. 72 LTD Convertible with a 429 & C6 transmission. Last year built because nobody was buying. 4200+ total, only 566 built with a 429. Less than 50 built with my paint and trim. One of 2100 built a 65 AMC Rambler Classic 770 Convertible, needs work but complete, even fewer built in 66 before production ended. One of?? 65 Dodge Polara Convertible, first year on the C-Body, Slab Sided big block Chrysler. Also needs work. When people see any of these they ask what is it? So few built nobody has seen them. Old car restoration expert told me long ago rule of thumb was only 10% of convertible models survive. Modern databases can probably tell more accurate numbers.
@paulricelli55207 ай бұрын
Wow! Sound like you got a couple of rare ones. Keep abreast of current pricing. You should be in good shape
@dewholdingsllc10507 ай бұрын
@@paulricelli5520 What is your old car? Or modern street cruiser car? What is it you like? Yes, all of my classic cars were few ever built, that nobody has seen them, even fewer survive today, so while very unique, not super-valuable. For example, one friend with a 69 Mach-1 Mustang and CJ engine just restored it after sitting in a AZ garage for over 30 years. Prior owned died and widow wanted her garage back. Dead guy had no joy from owning/driving it just storing it. In 2023 its a Ford that there were what, 100s of thousands or a million, built? so not really rare, but a possible six-figure car because of market demand, which is how silly market is. I am attracted to affordable classic cars that the regular guy can buy, own, work on. Keeping these old cars running and on the street is the key for me. I have little interest in owning museum quality car nobody can touch or drive.

Nice hat, I own a C5 Z06. 64 GTO needs the engine rebuilt and possibly other work for 30k, a 66 427 Chevelle for 40k or a 69 Z/28 tribute for 32k. All 3 seem like decent deals but I think the 69 Camaro for 32k would be my choice. Great video!

"Phaeton" does NOT refer to a 'roadster', which were often referred to as 2 door convertible coupes. A phaeton is a FOUR door convertible SEDAN. Although a sedan, of course, seals up a whole lot better in inclement weather.

Great video. The GTO is a good buy, however, the red just looks wrong on it, I see red is more of a Chevrolet color. Too bad they didn’t do it in its original blue. Same with the 76C 10, great deal at 16,000, but those late 70s trucks looked so good in their metallic blue. Z28 clone is a good buy. Yellow GTX is a fantastic deal. Tempest is a winner. The blue Z28 is odd, not a race car and not a driver. And the blue looks off too, I don’t think it’s Le Mans blue. Pass on both Z28s. I’m going home with the GTX.

Holy cow.! As prices have gone up since I was there last. Probably 30 years. A 64 GTO with no motor or trans, for 30k.? And not in the original color. You'd have to spend another 30-40k to make it right. Not much profit if you wanted to try and flip it, once restored. Last time I was there 58 Chevrolet Impalas weren't that desirable, seen many restored, and unrestored no rust for $35,000- 40,000, now they're 60k at least.

Hugger Orange/Carousel Red appear much more red on camera than they really are.
@daleliske97578 ай бұрын
@backyardbarnfinds they have the same paint code for 1969, code 72. But a lot of people say that the Pontiacs version has more red in it. Also, Corvette used an entirely different paint code for Hugger Orange. 882? I think. Now some other people say carousel red looks more red, on camera. So, I guess it's a draw. I just remember my dad's truck being more orange than red. Shade wise. Kinda like how early chevy engines were painted. "Chevrolet orange "

Once again I don't know just me but I lost interest in all of that crap. I just bought in 1984 Jaguar xjs v12 running an extremely minimal rust. Solid body and not a bad interior. The car runs and drives for $6,500. To me that's more interesting than any of this stuff. I have three Jaguars and I have fun with everyone of them and I have minimal problems two V8's and a V12.... one with a completely original aluminum body and to steal car bodies. One with no rust and like I said the V12 has minimal
