​@Dark Blight Ballas Not a mental patient; a school counselor who majorly missed the mark when prescribing treatment for Luz's grief and misery. He wanted to send her to a "Think-Inside-The-Box" camp when he diagnosed her outbursts with mismanaged grief? Luz was grieving the loss of her father but she was also neurodivergent and just had different interests than the nromies in that town. Plus, the way to deal with grief is to concentrate on the connections you still have while being vigilant to make new ones. But in Gravesfield, only a handful of people are even open to the idea of being different, particularly the children who don't conform. The adults in Gravesfield are the most closed-minded assholes (not counting real villains) I've seen in Disney! The ONLY reason why Luz would continue her education in Gravesfield instead of Bonesborough is because HER MAGIC WAS LIMITED!

Nah, I don't think it's THAT. And we have five other witches on Earth, them being Alador, Lilith, Boscha, Skara, and Viney. And I think Amity would point out all the issues with at least three of them as well. Boscha: She was a bully to both Luz and Willow. She made of her of liking The Good Witch Azura books. She was more awful when they played against each other on their grudgy match. Alador: He and his wife got both Luz and their friends expelled from school for no reason. Then allow his wife to used Luz as a test subject to sell their products. And he ruin her chance to win in The Boneburrow Brawl. Lilith: She created for her in the witches duel during the convection. Also she was the who cursed her own sister. Attacks her friends at the emperor's coven. Kidnapped Luz and threatened to kill her.

I liked how Vee didn't start out to replace Luz but at some point she was throwing out all of Luz's stuff, which in a way was her thinking Luz was not coming back and was safe to become her own "Luz" at which point she was busted by the real Luz and abandoned that idea. Especially since Luz was trying to come come and had helped to save her. They became siblings after that point.

Her first debut in "I Was a Teenage Abomination" looked like that, but once we got to "Covention", I pretty much realized there's way more to her than we initially thought. And when "Lost in Language" came along, it became pretty clear that she is not a bad person whatsoever. All that stuff we saw in the beginning of the show, like in the first season? Yeah, it was all just an act and façade. There are many fans like you who fail to fully understand Amity's character, backstory, and her intentions when it comes to her pretending to be a bully since Understanding Willow. This lack of understanding can be attributed to various reasons, such as not paying enough attention to the details, taking everything they see on screen at face value, or simply not understanding the complexity of her character. Amity has been putting on the act and façade to hide her true self and pretending of looking down on Willow and maintaining her family's image, which she hated doing but had no choice. She wasn't bullying her, just being mean and condescending to her, and the reason she did that was to keep up appearances in front of Odalia who expected her to treat Willow as lesser than her and in front of people like Boscha and her friend group. Boscha on the other hand WAS an actual bully to Willow. Amity told Willow at her birthday party they couldn't be friends anymore, it was a lie of course, but since Odalia threatened Willow, Amity had to make it look real, and because she had to be convincing, not just to Willow but also to Odalia, so she would never make good on that threat. The reason Amity PRETENDED to be mean to Willow is that because she knew if Odalia ever found out Amity still cared about Willow and being friendly with her, then Odalia would follow through on her threat to get Willow expelled from Hexside. Amity is and was fully aware she hurt willow, she just couldn't do anything about it before, and does feel guilty over her. The ONLY time Amity was GENUINELY mean was when she was rightfully angry with Luz for helping Willow cheat at her school assignment and getting her sent to Principal Bump's office. Amity DIDN'T try to dissect Luz. She was just trying to force Luz into revealing she wasn't an abomination. What she wanted was to prove Willow cheated. Luz wasn't tied up or anything, if she didn't want to get stabbed all she had to do was... move out of the way. Same as the one with Luz, Amity didn't wanted Boscha and her gang to find out about her true friendship with Willow, so she tried to burn the photo memory of their childhood friendship. While in Willow's mind, the real reason Amity didn't wanted to fix the memory of her friendship with Willow is that she didn't want Luz to find out, because she was afraid Luz would judge her especially without the proper context and thought she'd end up losing another real friend. Despite fixing Willow's mind and regaining her friendship with Willow who understood and forgave her, Amity still felt bad about what happened, both the part with Odalia and the fact that she almost burned up Willow's brain trying to hide it, she knows Willow isn't angry anymore, but she still felt bad that all that stuff still happened because she was afraid to let Luz and Willow know the truth. In Follies at the Coven Day Parade, Amity said "I'm glad we can be like this again", what she trying to say was that she wanted to make things be the way she and Willow used to be when they were kids, as shown in Labyrinth Runners where she kept getting in Willow's way because of it. She just wanted their friendship to be like it was when they were kids, which Willow stopped smiling cause she wasn't sure things could like they use to. Respect with that or not, you are completely wrong.

Gus and Willow have the least ground to stand on. For all of their struggles, they were clearly raised by loving fathers who did their best to raise them right. Vee was kidnapped and experimented on; Amity grew up with an abusive mother and enabler father (forgot about that, huh?); Camila had to soldier through losing her husband and working to the bone to provide for herself and Luz, all the while torn between defending Luz and dealing with other adults criticizing her parenting; and Hunter was *literally* raised from birth in isolation by a genocidal madman who gaslit and brainwashed him into being a *child soldier*, and to believe that all the horrible things they were doing were righteous. Luz herself? "Place to belong" or no, she was trapped in an alien and dangerous land with the very real possibility of never seeing her mother again, and that's only scraping the surface. Dead father, bullied at school, indifferent authority figures, a mother caving in to peer pressure, and her only safe refuge from the dangers of the Boiling Isles was with (despite her positive qualities) a morally ambiguous witch who's hunted by pretty much every authority figure on the Isles.

I should add that none of these kids are sociopaths incapable of empathy or remorse, and they're certainly not narcissists who would lord their supposed moral superiority over Amity like this. Luz sure as hell recognizes when she's hurt others and does everything she can to apologize. While Amity didn't deserve to be hurt as listed in the comic, she still spent an unspecified number of years bullying the people around her; that's part of what makes her character development so great to watch. Another problem unique to shows like this is the part where viewers throw criticisms at the characters willy-nilly, conveniently ignoring that the main characters are *literal children*, a demographic known for making mistakes like crazy, who should be held responsible for their mistakes, but certainly shouldn't be treated as if they were the actions of a full-grown adults. It doesn't help that the show got screwed over and had to wrap everything up in a third season consisting of three 40-minute episodes, robbing us of addition full seasons that could've added more juicy character development.

Thank you for acknowledging Lilith's callousness from the duel and how Luz tried to stop Ed and Em from stealing Amity 's diary. But I also want to address a few things, likehow Willow only resorted to cheating to boost Willow's grades, image and self-esteem, which Amity played a part in by demoralizing her for years and that Luz was afraid Amity would kill her in the duel. Amity also got herself in trouble for making a scene in the school cafeteria in the process of exposing Luz yet blamed her for getting herself in trouble. Additionally when did Luz and the twins vandalize the library? All they did was mess around, BTW the Corrupted Storybook Character was more the twins fault than Luz's. The thing I dislike about Luz is how she blames herself for everything and goes along with the negative things people say about her. Those incidents weren't her fault, and part of it was out of Luz's and in some ways Amity's control. I mean Luz tried talking to Amity about it and reconcile but the latter was too irritated by Luz's general presence to listen. Seriously it took Amity at least 2 weeks to get it through her head that Luz was trying to be nice to her, how could it take anyone that long to see that?

Vee still had no right to throw away any of luz belonging regardless of her circumstances and definitely shouldn’t have made any unfair assumptions about luz or her life without speaking to her first vee’s words to luz always came off as very disrespectful to luz and the issues she had in the human realm. Fact is vee still stole Luz identity, lied to camila, tried to throw always Luz’s stuff and tried to replace her all of which were not ok. Plus if luz is getting called out for her actions despite having sympathetic reasons of her own then vee definitely needs to get called out for her own actions too.

You know, this comic could've been different in my version of The Owl House Season 3. With Luz's friends going to her human school. And we have five other witches on Earth, them being Alador, Lilith, Boscha, Skara, and Viney. And I think Amity would point out all the issues with at least three of them as well. Boscha: She was a bully to both Luz and Willow. She made of her of liking The Good Witch Azura books. She was more awful when they played against each other on their grudgy match. Alador: He and his wife got both Luz and their friends expelled from school for no reason. Then allow his wife to used Luz as a test subject to sell their products. And he ruin her chance to win in The Boneburrow Brawl. Lilith: She created for her in the witches duel during the convection. Also she was the who cursed her own sister. Attacks her friends at the emperor's coven. Kidnapped Luz and threatened to kill her.

If luz had minded her own business, she wouldn't have been put in that situation in the first place. 2. Luz caused the problem by stealing amity's wand because she was to impatient and she lied about knowing a second spell just to impress amity. The entire thing is her fault. Also, stealing is wrong. 3. Luz did make amity lose her job. Amity was trying to do something nice for luz, but luz overreacted and made noise when she shouldn't have and got them in trouble so it's partly luz fault 4. Luz helped the twins pull pranks in the library giving amity more work to clean up, which is still wrong no matter how you look at it 5. Luz said she would help amity but ended up getting her in trouble with her dad and she even lied about it to amity's face No one even said amity was innocent, but it's pretty clear luz did do things to amity that wasn't right as well. Also, even if some of them was accidents, making accidents that repeatedly cause problems for yourself and those around you is still bad, intentional or not.

It's a crazy internet troll who hates The Owl House. The point is Amity was NEVER a bad person or bully. Her first debut in "I Was a Teenage Abomination" looked like that, but once we got to "Covention", I pretty much realized there's way more to her than we initially thought. And when "Lost in Language" came along, it became pretty clear that she is not a bad person whatsoever. All that stuff we saw in the beginning of the show, like in the first season? Yeah, it was all just an act and façade. Turns out, she's just a miserable loner, who was emotionally abused, neglected, and never given a genuinely love. Her pretending to hang out with Boscha led to the former being shunned and distrusted by everyone, as they believed she was a snobby rich girl like Boscha. Amity was pressured and blackmailed into becoming a top student by Odalia who compelled her to get green hair because she wanted her children to be "color coordinated", despite the fact that Amity inherited her father Alador's hair color. Understanding Willow proves without a shadow of a doubt that Amity is not and never was a bully: She was just faking it and ONLY pretended to be one after her selfish stuck-up as$hole mother, Odalia, blackmailed her into ending her friendship with Willow. For seven years, Amity PRETENDED to be mean to Willow, because she knew if Odalia ever found out Amity still cared about Willow and being friendly with her, then Odalia would follow through on her threat to get Willow expelled from Hexside. This episode makes it clear that Amity never actually wanted to hurt Willow and was just forced into it. She couldn't stand seeing Boscha hurting Willow, but she had to pretend not to care and keep up the act. Deep down, Amity always loved and cared about Willow. She was just putting on an act to protect her best friend from Odalia. That's all there was to it. Amity was looking a better future that would make her happy, since she didn't have it in the past. Even though she didn't like being forced to join the Emperor's Coven, she hoped that if she had to do it, she might as well try to get something good out of it, like love and respect from everyone. But, ironically, that never would have happened at all. Amity never had any social life after what happened with Willow, she couldn't stand Boscha and her gang and didn't have any actual friends; she only hung out with them superficially under Odalia's influence. All Amity wanted was love, respect, and a real friends who she can laugh with and grow together with, but they keep being taken away. When Luz came around and befriended her, Amity's life got a million times better and she was actually happy for the first time in literal years. She has finally began to come out of the shell that Odalia forced her in and became a better person for it. The ONLY time Amity was GENUINELY mean was when she was rightfully angry with Luz for helping Willow cheat at her school assignment and getting her sent to Principal Bump's office.
