I really like this video, I will recommend not giving the whole plots of the books, because some people might join for recommendations and will get spoilers lol. But I think you do that to explain what you like about that book, but if you can, I would really appreciate if you can keep the ending a secret. Keep up the great work honey.

thank you !! i usually try not to give away the ending of books to avoid spoilers but will definitely work on the fine balance of describing the plot without giving too much away

I admire your reading of Crime and Punishment. I've tried to read it a few times and just can't get past the opening scenes. In March we have a show called "Canada Reads" where panelists chose and defend a book over a 4 day period, voting out one book each day until only one remains, the winner of "Canada Reads" it's a lot of fun, and I have read 2 of the books "Bad Cree" by Jessica Johns and a short story collection "Shut Up, You're Pretty" Both have been really good

it was a bit of a slog to get started because my brain is so not used to reading really heavy and archaic text but i really got into it after a few chapters as the plot really draws you in! and wow those other books sound amazing, will definitely check them out!

definitely start with his smaller books first like white nights like I did - it makes starting his work less intimidating and that way you can see if it's for you or not without starting a HUGE book

Just finished this new, original collection of fairy tales, entitled 'Sillies, Fancies, and Trifles' - it was phenomenal and just perfect for the season. You guys would love it! What's everyone else reading, I want some more recommendations to add to the lovely ones here. Keep up the beautiful videos :)

Reading is one habit which I want to develop on a regular basis but not able to do so. Please advice how can I initiate and which books should I start with.

first i would look search genres you get enjoyment from - are there certain genres of films you like to watch? perhaps you could try the same genres with books and see if you vibe with them? in terms of making the habit, ironically i would recommend reading the book i mentioned in this video (atomic habits) to help you form the habit of reading consistently! however i could make a video on all my tips on how to read more? (:

Russian literature is so not for me but I still enjoyed watching :P Ps. Believe it or not, I'm so jealous of the British weather!

I read Crime and Punishment in HS and hated it. But that was the Garnett translation. I plan on giving the Oliver Ready translation a try this year. If you’re looking for more Russian lit, I read War and Peace last year, and it lives up to the hype. I read the Anthony Briggs translation. It’s great.

I think being forced to read most books in school makes you hate them lol and I do want to read war and peace one day but i think that's a future book for me as I don't know if I can currently tackle something so meaty !!

War and Peace is admittedly very long. But it is quite accessible. It is not a difficult read so-to speak, just very long. Tolstoy makes 100% clear what he is talking about throughout the book. And yes definitely, being assigned books to read in school largely makes you hate them. I don't believe I truly enjoyed a novel I was assigned to read in school until my sophomore year of college ("uni" for you Brits) when I was assigned Palace Walk by Naguib Mahfouz. I devoured that novel in two days. @@katerinareem

Russian novel about a guy who’s killing an old woman to prove himself he has a right to. This motivation’s killing me, and yet when a bunch of such guys are gathering together, they end up starting a war in a neighboring country killing innocent people :) the difference is just in absence of guilt, though there’s still no real punishment
