I who have never known men is my favourite book and I’m so glad you liked it!! It really made me examine what it means to be a woman (and a human) particularly in the absence of men and relationships with them. So good!!!

I just finished Elena Knows. What a powerful story. It was hard to experience the Parkinsons part of the story, but I loved how it all came together once she met with the lady she was looking for. It had such a strong message but it never felt preachy. good recommendation!

I read Shards last year and had the worst book hangover ever. I was not able to pick up any book for a like month. Thanks to your vids I kinda want to read it again haha Also, have you ever read Halle Butler? I would say her style is very Melissa Broder-esque so i would highly recommend !!!

"wow this was a debut, you really wrote one book" had me GAGGING i've always thought about the sentiments surrounding debuts. do we give them more lenience because it's a first book? should the writer have waited on putting out something that is mature enough? or is it, later down the road, the collectivism that showcases the oeuvre? do we enjoy seeing the progression of an artist's work in life?
@frankiesshelf
@frankiesshelf Ай бұрын
you are so unbelievably thoughtful omg i’ve been mulling over this the last two hours i feel like i do this hypocritical thing where if it’s a good debut i over applaud it but then don’t give that same lenience to a mediocre debut .. i do love looking back at an authors work and their progression but i don’t necessarily want to be subjected to the rough beginnings lmao

Hi, I'm new to your channel and I'm loving it! It seems like we share similar tastes in books, so probably I'll read all the books that you loved 💓 Oh and just one thing: I don't know if you tend to separate the art from the artist, but if you don't, like me, I just wanna say that Ellis is a terrible person. You know, with everything that's happening in Palestine now I'm terrified to buy something wrote by a z*onist, so I'll research every author before buying something. I don't know if this can interest you, but I know some people really care so I hope I've done the right thing. I hope you're having a wonderful reading month, I can't wait to hear more recs by you!
