Hi 2012 ram 1500 laramie with alpine system. I in stalled lc7i. And replaced door speakers and sub. I used front speakers as channel 1 and rear speakers on channel 2 on the lc7i. Channel 3 for subs. I dont get any sound on my tweeters anymore. I hooked up after stock amp. Now Kenwood xr400-4. And kicker cx1200.1

The 3.5's can play the bongos and the 6x9's can play the bass drum . So similar to my 300C . I used to have Boston Acoustic Pro 3 way components. Each 3 way x over was the size of a new 4 channel amplifier 😂

we were never allowed to use the brake bypass because of the dvd feature. in PA you're not allowed to have any video player viewable from the front seat.

Lots of good info in this video, but it seems more specific to that Dodge Ram. I was hoping that this would be some kind of comprehensive video about the various Dodge/Chrysler vehicles of all years. I've been looking for something to help me with the 1st gen Durango (specifically a 99) with the Infinity system. I want to keep the factory wiring & amp but add an aftermarket stereo.

Just subscribed I do have a Ram question. 2007 ram quad cab big horn. My head unit is Dual dvd double din. Install seemed straight forward but when finished, now backlighting for HVAC controls are no longer working. Removed HVAC lamps and they ohm out good plus tested lamps with a small battery. Put back together and all controls function fine but just no back lighting. What did I do wrong? Do I have to reboot something to get the backlights to come back? Thanks in advance.

I know this is an old video, but I wanted to first say I have watched a bunch of your videos lately and really like them. They are very informative and easy to understand. I also wanted to ask a question about my 2009 Dodge Challenger and the different harness options. I tried the PAC RP4-CH11 and I am not happy with it as I am getting a hissing noise from the speakers. I was told and read that it is because my amp is at full gain (a result of the PAC unit). I am now about to try an Axxess ADBOX-1 and appropriate harness. I hope that works, but if not, is my only other options to get a idatalink compatible head unit and the maestro RR kit? Any other advice on what the hissing could be other than the harness? IT IS NOT A GROUND. I have thoroughly checked those. I dont want to bypass the factory amp if I dont have to because I have the Bouston Acoustic 368 watt 7 speaker with sub, so I dont want to lose that power or the sub (or spend $1500 for another aftermarket setup). Any chance you can chime in with some advice?

I'm looking to do the same speaker upgrade in my truck, however Crutchfield list that the Kicker 43DSC69304 do not fit the front door. have you guys had any problems with that? They are saying that speaker Depth is 3.196 and the room in the front door is 2.904 did you put a .25 spacer on the fronts? TIA

I get all the Amp Pro hookup but you never show the Aftermarket Amp to the Speakers hookup? Did you use another harness to tie into the factory speaker wires to by pass the factory Amp? I went in my mygig radio engineering menu and f-ed up the screen calibration. Found a forum that says to click on seek up / radio media / Audio, and it will bring up the calibration screen. No such luck. Used radio. Dodge-grand-caravan, probably around 2013. Model 5064757AK Help 😭🤣

Sorry to bring up an old topic. I’m redoing my 2006 Ram with infinity and Navi I just replaced the front dash speakers but they apparently were never wired in to the new amp. The amp only powers the doors. What would you recommend doing to tie the dash speakers back into the door speakers? I’m assuming I might have to add wires from where the amp intercepts the door speaker wires... where might they be routed?

Here's a weird one for you. 2004 Bose Chevy silverado. Installed a pioneer nex1300, pioneer 5 channel and pioneer d series front and back. Any ideas why the speakers sound weak and underpowered when they should be getting 75w of power

I went last Saturday to a local radio shop and I was told that I can't change out my 8.4 because I have navigation. I thought the iDatalink RR was suppose to take care of all (or at least most of) the functions my factory radio provides. I don't see why I can't change out the radio, I know I'm going to lose some of the Uconnect functions, but I'm ok with that. I'm wanting to install the Kenwood 994s with the dash cam.

I have a 2019 RAM Classic Crew cab and need some advice on components. I am looking to install a kicker sub kit, and a 4 channel stick amp (45wX4) to amplify my current stock speakers. I’ve heard I need to trick my head unit to think there’s a load in order for the head to send power to the amp. Is this true? Is there one device that does this? Will I need to cut and splice in resistors? If so, will that create a parasitic drain on my electrical system?

I would double check to make sure that the dash speaks are there as my 2005 ram 2500 with the infinity sound system did not however I added them to the system without the bass blockers and realized why they sounded so bad after watching this video I recommend putting the blockers In no matter what they are relatively inexpensive

I installed a factor floor console with a cd player into my 2015 Ram, replacing the jump seat. The cd player turns on but I don't get the cd icon on my 8.4 radio. Does this option need to be programmed?

I'm having issues with my 2017 dodge charger. I have 4 coaxial hertz mille pro 6x9. Plus the two stock 3.5. I have a hertz mille 4 amp. Plus jl7 10 inch and jl amp for it. Lc7i has been crap for me with harsh highs and noise. The installer tweaked the lc7i. But made it sound like crap. I was told to either do pac pro amp to offset oem amp. Other option is pac pro amp and a dsp processor. More money though. Please help

'02-03 (up to '07ish?) 3rd gen Dodge, NON infinity system: Hooked up the cheap basic $10 harness on both trucks. Everythijg works fine other than the remote wires on boh trucks when I add an amp. The remote wires have 12v output when trucks are on, and no 12v when trucks are off (as it should be), but wont actually turn an amp on. What gives? I've had to run a a 2 prong switch to manually turn and amp on/off. Battery pos to one prong, and a wire from the second prong to the remote input on the amp. Does dodge require a relay on the remote wire? I tried running the remote wire to the amp from: Acc wire on harness Power Antennna wire on harness 12v switched on harness Acc wire from h/u harness Tapped every 12v switched fuse

Ok, 2003 4runner factory JBL system with amp. System is garbage minus the newer head unit. Wife got me JBL door speakers front and back and a JBL amp gxa604 for the door speakers. I have a kicker hideaway sub. If I use the amp bypass wiring harness could I tie the amp into that wiring harness and still use the factory speaker wires other than power? Don’t want to rewire the whole truck if not necessary.

Do the Kenwood Excelon KFC-X2C 2-3/4" and the Infinity Reference REF-3032CFX 3-1/2" already have a capacitor installed or do you still have to put one in line on the positive wire kenwood excelon says it has inline crossovers attached. Infinity doesn't say but in pictures of back of speaker I can see a cap installed Is this what it means

The Kenwood comes with it in the box. Not sure about the infinity. I have never come across on with the bass blocker already mounted on for the midrange only the tweeter

So being a Ram owner myself with the 6 speaker setup, how do those dash speakers sound? You went from an OEM 8-ohm speaker to a 4-Ohm Kicker. Being that the front door 6x9's are on the same channel as the dash speakers. Do the Kicker dash speakers play alot louder and kinda of really in your face? Keep up the great work on your videos, I really enjoy watching them.

You are correct, the dash speakers were a lot louder when I changed mine. I eventually put the factory back in until I could get my system sorted out. I was told I could put in a 4 ohm resistor but I couldn't find one.

That is the issue I have. I have aftermarket dash speakers ready to go in, but they will be too loud. Looking myself for a solution.

I had the Alpine H800 DSP along with the v9 and f4 amps. I will have the 8.4 changed out with the Kenwood 994s and I'm changing out the speakers (again) with Focal Flax components on the front. And 2 ways on the back door. Plus I had the JL Stealthbox installed last week.

+Spoolinupblue yes this is a great question. I have owned 3 Rams and was never a big fan of the 3.5 in the dash. I personally like adding a small 4 channel brick amp to the front 4 speakers for level control. Or do a set of tweeter that have negative attenuation built into the crossover, like Alpine Rtypes. That way you can gain them down a bit. With that being said, I like some sound coming from there. It really brings the sound up and make for a much better sound.
