I thought The Substance was good but I would never watch it again. The storyline was interesting to me and personally I felt as though it was a take on how much anti-aging “propaganda” is being strewn about all over social media in recent years and only getting worse. I think the concept was cool and a little bit relatable, of course this movie isn’t supposed to be taken literally hahah

yeah but it was also pretty clearly about the objectification of women in Hollywood. Demi's character was "lacking" and all anyone wanted Sue for was her body, looks, and sex appeal. Combined all it turned them into was feeling like they had to remake themselves entirely (the way we dehumanize women and then women start to feel less than human). It was a great movie, but yeah I'll agree I'm probably not watching it again lol, only because I think it wouldn't hit the same knowing the ending. Maybe only if I was showing a friend.
