Jari Litmanen joined Ajax in 1992 from the Finnish side MYPA and went on to be a part of the UEFA Champions League-winning side of 1995. After seven seasons in Amsterdam he left for Barcelona and eventually Liverpool. Finally, he returned home to Amsterdam in 2002. He played 255 matches for Ajax, finding the net 133 times. 6:10 - I was watching this game on TV when I was a kid, about 9 years old, and this goal amazed me. The situation seemed safe for side in possession but within three seconds Litmanen created a goal out of nowhere, pressing the defender and then killing it with first touch. The next day I asked all my friends if they saw a beauty Litmanen scored and of course nobody did. Since then it stuck in my memory. Happy to finally see it again. Maybe not so special by today's standards but it was my special childhood memory.

In Nederland gewaardeerd, in het buitenland een beetje ondergewaardeerd. Volgens mij in zijn tijd een van de beste, over de hele wereld! Een hele complete voetballer, die eigenlijk alles kon. Spitsengoals, lobjes, afstandschoten, tegenstander uitspelen, een tweetjes, tegenstander uitspelen, koelbloedig! Gefeliciteerd Jari!

I'm not even a football fan but remember how great Ajax was as Jari was a big thing in Finland and I guess elsewhere also. Thought they were a bit under radar as a team. Players like de boer brothers, marc overmars, clarence seedorf, patrick kluivert, edgar davids and edwin van der sar were all great and I have only good memories of em. Just a rock solid team for years with personalities!
