Guppy here, endler there, livebearers everywhere! One of the focuses in the Fish Cave lately besides breeding bristlenose plecos has been breeding guppy fish. We bought 10 different strains at the 2019 Florida Fancy Guppy Club Show and Auction and haven't looked back.

Use them above my Pleco’s no particular strain just what ever strikes my fancy color or tail shape mix in with my strain just to see what I get. Great video!

I think you should avoid the term "species" when discussing guppy types. Endlers and Guppies might be different species, but for the most part you're talking about different strains, varieties, or breeds. Just like dogs or chickens. Blue tail female guppy is striking.

I am running only about a dozen tanks all the time and I have some sort of guppy in every tank except for 1 or 2 (they get eaten). They are great for eating certain types of algae off of plants and are all-around perfect for eating up excess food off the substrate....not to mention the fact that even the mutts can be absolutley beautiful! Man I loved tguppys when I was a kid because they were breeding like crazy in my tank. These days I stopped bothering with them cause they always get some weird disease and die before breeding. Its as if they were bred so heavily in sterile conditions that they are lacking a normal immune system these days.

WOW those are beautiful. Would like to know more about guppies? I don't want to breed them so is it OK to have only males or only females? I have one Angel Fish in my tank (20 gallon tall) and can I put them in with her?

You could keep just males or just females. If you do keep just males, I suggest no females and watch for fin nipping. If you’re going to get both males and females get more females than males or the males will harass the few females. Its possible to keep the two fish in similar water conditions but in my opinion it would be risky as the angels can get a little aggressive and go after the guppies. At the very least tearing some fins and at the worst killing them.

I have been keeping fish for 5 years and I have kept guppies nor most community fish as I went straight to large fish like big catfish and cichlids then saltwater now.

Long-term I’d love to keep some larger fish when I have the space. A colony of Frontosa has been on my bucket list for awhile. What do you keep and what type of salt water? Coral? FOWLR?

@@WildFishTanks coral its a reef finally had noticeable coral growth a few weeks ago too. I have 11 fish in a 60g with 5 corals and a single rock flower anemone I was supposed to go get more stuff for that tank but I never got to it... in freshwater I just keep red severums and any suitable tankmates I used to keep dempseys and such.

Sold over 200 guppies already and I'm breeding about 200 a month and several tanks but I want more species now I'm getting greedy 😂 it's addictive 😂
