I've never been able to own a horse but used to be a keen recreational rider for many years. I really love them but yes have been on the end of some scary moments. The worst probably was riding in Exmoor along a ridge with several companions. We could hear a helicopter really loudly but couldn't see anything. All of a sudden 2 Apache helicopters out training rose up from the valley below and drew level with us. I don't know who got the biggest fright us or the pilots.I could see one of the pilots face. Realising this was not a good idea they took off as quickly as possible at an extreme angle. Unbelievably the horses did not spook at all but I'll never forget it and what might have happened.😀🇬🇧❤️

Thank you for this as I have been very worried about the poor grey covered in blood, with people saying it had a badly injured leg. At the end of the day, every horse however well trained and used to situations is at heart a fight or flight animal. The horrendous noise that they heard was enough to unsettle them and cause panic. This wasn’t helped by people screaming btw and I couldn’t believe the bikes and motorbikes still going. That makes no sense! If the rest of the traffic is stopped and there’s two tonne of horses charging at you you don’t take the opportunity to pass the blooming bus! I can’t believe that no one knew stopping techniques. I read somewhere that a police vehicle “chased” them for several miles blue lights flashing. While I believe the police vehicle was to prevent cars overtaking them rather than chasing the horses, the blue lights would add to the horses’ panic. Some reports made it sound like the horses had become dangerous - madness taken over them as they tried to kill people in the city, when in fact it was prey animals terrified for their lives trying to escape. I hope all the riders are OK. It’s not nice when you land on grass but on concrete it’s awful. I also pray that all the animals are ok, recover quickly and that there weren’t any fatalities because there was an awful lot of blood plus they would be in shock too. Thank you Neil for giving a sensible account as usual xxxx❤❤
@KeiPalaceАй бұрын
The police vehicle did NOT CHASE with a siren, and blue lights flashing would not spook the horses further as they have been trained to be used to the city, the vehicles, the sounds and noises of PARADES, due to daily exercise in the City. The horses were only dangerous in that they are LARGE and HEAVY and unpredictable, if you know horses as I do, you know you can't get in front of them, you have to let them run themselves out before they can be safely brought to a stop. If you hear hoofbeats (a common thing) in London you will assume the horse has a RIDER and is under control, also the horses went right round a corner into traffic which would astonish anyone, there are a million blind spots with tall buildings all around, and as a driver - on a bike or car - you are concentrating on your route - and once committed to going forward, you can't quickly pull to a stop or even have time to get out of the way! You can see that in the footage.

Thank you Sean for reporting it correctly. I have read such rubbish from the MSM. With any animal the unexpected can happen but this was shocking to say the least. Quick recovery for all I hope

The sight of that beautiful white horse drenched in blood and the black horse hitting the bus broke my heart. Those poor horses.

I’m so pleased everyone and the horses were ok. I was so upset when I saw the blood that I was convinced that it was seriously injured, so thank you Neil for reassuring us about the situation. Many thanks and best wishes to all involved xxx
