🎄 🎄 Christmas 🎄! Now that I'm 72 I've decided to downsize a little bit on my outside decor. At least that's what's in my plan for right now. However I will still decorate the inside of my house with my four Christmas trees and all the rest of my decor . you asked what decor is most nostalgic, I would have to say, my Christmas ornaments. Many I have collected over the last 42 years of marriage and all my travels. I also love decorating the mantle with all the Christmas stockings and it seems every year we add a few more that is what makes me happy at Christmas time thank you so much for your wonderful video. Hi Barb, I’ve been working at downsizing our Christmas decor over the past few years. The hardest items for me to let go of are my treasured Christmas tree ornaments that I’ve been collecting for 45+ yrs. I’ve been wanting to downsize our tree to a much smaller one but then I think about all our ornaments; some of which go back to the early 70’s and are now considered vintage. Being 71, I must admit that the set up and take down process is much easier now since I downsized our decor 🎄❤️💫

At age 68, I have accumulated WAY too much holiday decor over the years. With having mobility issues these days, I need to begin purging instead of buying new. I will be down-sizing everything this year and it is breaking my heart, but I suppose it is just the time of life I'm in now. I'm sure your home will be lovely, warm and festive per usual.

My #1 tip is to use quality extension cords and power strips not only at Christmas time but throughout the year. Cheap cords and power strips are more likely to start a fire. We have friends who lost their home to a fire started by a cheap power strip that overheated. People are so willing to spend lots of money on decor and home improvements but go cheap on the important items.

I decorate 100% nostalgic. My tree is decorated with all family ornaments dating back to the 1940’s that were my grandmas. Love my bottle brush trees and holly garland. I guess I’m an old sole. Hi Karen, I love your decor. I have had those clear Christmas candles on my wish list since last year. Now you have shared them I see a perspective on the size. I love them. I also love the Christmas tree candles. For nostalgic vintage decor, I have collected vintage Christmas ornaments for thirty years. I have about 400 vintage ornaments in my collection. We started out as poor married college students, we used my grandma's 1950s vintage ornaments I inherited for our first tree. I really loved them, so I have collected them ever since. Karen your list of necessities was very helpful! I took your advice and made a list. I especially liked those vintage looking candles that you showed and will be ordering some. Literally you could decorate all over the house with them, I’m even thinking my bedroom and guest powder room. A childhood memory we had at Christmas was a fake cardboard fireplace! Karen, if the bow on your mini wreath is attached with hot glue use your hair blow dryer to warm it and it should soften the glue enough to get the ribbon off. I craft a lot and I have a heat gun tool, but I know some crafters use hair dryers to take things apart. I hope it works! Barb in Kent Ohio 🎄🎄🎄
