"My English teacher warned us to start preparing for the B2 first exam, she even accused us of not doing enough. And my groupmates admitted that they really weren't prepared for the exam. So I recommended them to start watching Smash English videos because they are fantastic!" Thanks for the perfect explanation!

@@SMASHEnglish Hey Toby, you ought to correct Yulia. There are several errors in her sentences. Or am I wrong?

i have a question, about the verb advise suggest and recommend there is no difference in meaning in the different reported speech ( that with ing form, with should, to + infinite) you said that should is used when it refers to something said in the past right? but "to+ infinite?

I'm just wary about the suggested use of "advise" here. Wouldn't we actually say something more like: Bruce advised the other guy TO GET someone more attractive to appear in the videos? Could you elaborate on this one, please!
@SMASHEnglish Жыл бұрын
Isn't that structure in the video too?

Toby, couldn't we say, "Bruce suggested that Toby get someone more attractive to appear in the videos." I am confused as to why we couldn't use *suggested* this way.
