Thank you for the informative video. I would like to try some of these one day. So far I have only played D&D 5e, Kingdom RPG, and Pathfinder 2e. One of my biggest problems is that my friends and I are not native English speakers, we play our games in Turkish, so it's aukward referring to English rules all the time. I am also the only person who is somewhat proficient in English, so they have a very hard time understanding the rules unless I translate for them. Unfortunately, there is no RPG market in Turkey where we can get official translations. One day, I got tired of translating and explaining things on the spot, so I decided to sit down and write a Turkish version of 5e's rules. It took about two weeks to translate all the core rules. And I spent several months translating a lot of the character options. I realized that I was actually a pretty good at translator. I also made a summarized translation of Kingdom RPG but I can't publish it due to copyright issues. Maybe I can contact Ben Robbins to publish it officially, who knows? Kingdom RPG is good for casual one-shots, and it can be learned easily. But I don't get to play it much. Anyway, in the end, I let go of 5e and switched to Pathfinder 2e. It was quite refreshing because I am obsessed with character balance and had to constantly homebrew character options in 5e to fix what I perceived as unbalanced. I almost never had to that with PF2e, only some reflavoring. Of course, I was crazy enough to undertake the same project for PF2e, back in August. The core rules are complete but I'm still working on the character options. I tried to stay faithful to the original but I did end up reordering a lot of the content to make it more understandable. I also introduced some nomenclature that was not there, such as a term uniting weapons and unarmed attacks so I can easily refer to both of them. Since the rules and all the character options are available for free on aonprd, I don't think I'll have any issues if I publish it for free. Wish me luck! P. S. If anyone was wondering, I will not publish my 5e translation because I want PF2e to be more popular lol. There is already another fan translation of 5e but it's pretty bad. P.S. Another problem I had was that both 5e and PF2e sourcebooks were pretty expensive. Buying anything from abroad is expensive here. But there is a solution: There is a virtual TTRPG simulator called Fantasy Grounds on Steam. There, you can buy sourcebooks as DLCs, for use your in your online RPG sessions(but you can open it up in game and read it too). And since Steam has a merciful currency exchange, it's much cheaper to buy the sourcebooks from there (Although that might be changing, because Steam updated its currency policy and the new PF2e book Impossible Lands costs 510₺, whereas the older books cost around 70₺ each). You can even get the PDFs if you sync your account with Paizo. That was a long and slightly unrelated ramble. Thank you for reading!

Great video, it's nice to see what options are out there! 5e has been my main for a while, but I've been more and more interested in OSR stuff. I haven't played Basic Fantasy, but I really love Old School Essentials, which is also simple and customizable! I played a bit of Call of Cthulhu years ago and still have the 6th Edition rulebook, I'd love to play more of it some time.

Kann mir nicht helfen, ich mag solche kleinen Systemvorstellungen einfach! Kannst dir auch mal das Video von Dice auf Eis über 6 kostenlose Spiele ansehen, wird auch z.B. kurz Aborea kurz besprochen.

Nice overview comparison of several good games (and some that I am unfamiliar with and can therefore say nothing about). Call of Cthulhu 7e is my pick for a game that is very close to perfect. Unlike some games that have changed radically from edition to edition, Cthulhu has remained pretty consistent with only minor edition changes, but ultimately I think the 7th edition has refined the game's system to provide a really outstanding play experience - better than any other game. I also have found Pathfinder to be a very solid system, although it is a lot to manage for the game master. Pathfinder was my main system for many years. Basic Fantasy RPG is a very good overall choice and for fantasy is my current favorite. You have basically explained just why it is an excellent choice in your vids, so I will simply say that I am in agreement! A couple of games that you do not mention that I find enjoyable are Traveller which has an extended history and remains a solid choice for a space game, and GURPS which is my first choice for a generic system. GURPS does gritty realism better than Savage Worlds, scales up and down better and ultimately seems more flexible - which is obviously important in a "generic" system. It does cost more than Savage Worlds, however.
