The UK general election campaign is now in full swing, with just one month to go until Britain heads to the polls.
Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer will have the opportunity to battle for votes over the coming weeks, with plenty of public appearances - and even TV debates - planned.
Occasionally, though, politicians can make a slip or two and it seems several high-profile gaffes have marred the early days of the Conservative Party's election campaign.

The Union Flag (called the Union Jack if it is on a ship/boat etc but commonly called the Union Jack in all cases) has alternating wide and narrow white diagonal lines. It should be flown with the wider white line towards the top of the flagpole. If on a ship it is flown reversed or upside down (ie with the narrow line to the top of the flagpole) it is a sign that the ship is in distress and is seeking help. In days gone by it was a good way of disguising distress whilst maintaining the appearance all was well as it is often not noticed to the untrained eye. In other news, it always annoys me that self-proclaimed British nationalists oh so proudly fly the Union flag upside-down in complete ignorance of the right and proper way of displaying it. 😢
