@@New-ye2fl there is a clear difference in how much/if its really "mugging off", people like to claim labour mugged us off in 1997-2010 when we saw... record lows/near record lows on homeless numbers, nhs waiting, dentist waiting, housing waiting, employment support waiting, disability support waiting, public water contaminations/beach contaminations, government fraud. Meanwhile making minorities into enemies for votes such as the trans community, or trying to stop people voting against them via voter ID laws where its came to light they stopped veteran ID from being used because it could open the door to student IDs being valid, the point of the voter ID is so obviously to stop labour voters. I think I am okay with being mugged off if I dont have to wait half a year to see a doctor on the NHS, wait over a year to see a dentist, have a stable and decent chance of owning my own home.... Tories pretend "its all the same", it isnt, tories steal from the public, openly and happily, the last time the UK saw such rampent abuse of the public was the south sea bubble. Blaming the public isn't the solution here. We need to blame the goddamn liars. Most of these people originally came from the East End of London in the last 30 years. They moved away from immigration on purpose. Thats why I always find this to be a slightly skewed point, and its very often areas adjacent to places of high immigration, or rather places with rapidly increasing diversity. In this case, Castle point is not far from Thurrock, with a large black and Eastern European population, and many of its residents moved there from Newham, Ilford, Barking etc. So they have experienced it and disliked it, and moved to a more "comforting" social bubble. In time they'll move east again to somewhere like Shoeburyness or Burnham, the moment they see an Asian person.

You are right of course, but it's not all internal political factors driving this, which can be easily remedied with a change of tie colour at the top. A change right now sounds like a no brainer, but to expect a fix from that change would, I feel, be fairly naive unfortunately. The polarising two party system now seems to result in nothing more than four year campaigns based on doing not much more than the opposite of each other, with no proper unified long term plans for anything. The woman at 1:45 is the type of person to complain on social media that the Scots get free education, free prescriptions, free bus travel, public ownership over their own water, etc etc, yet at the same time continuously voting for Conservatives that don't believe in much social policies, there's an oxymoron if there ever was one. Maybe stop voting for the Conservatives, and start voting for governments that actually believe in social policies, just as the Scots do, and maybe, just maybe we might understand how to take an abstract notion of our personal identity and turn it into a decent nationhood like Scotland. I mean Scotland hasn't voted Conservatives outright since 1935, here's to hoping Scotland ends this unequal 'voluntary' union and it can finally stop being held back by Conservative voters here in England.

Housing benefits are making councils broke? Immigrants vs veterans? If that’s the first thought in your head, the tory press has done its work 🙄

She was right about more council housing needing to be built though. I kind of think she was trying to make the point that millions is being spent on housing benefit which is only benefiting private landlords rather than proving social housing with cheaper rents.

And besides breaking the rules, the Tories under Boris didn't actually do well. The UK had a higher death rate from covid than any other western or northern European country. In Europe, only Greece and some of the former East Bloc countries did worse than the UK. All European countries with similar size to UK did better. Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Ukraine and even Russia did better (though Russian numbers should be taken with a grain of salt). Not talking small margins either, UK had a death rate of 150% that of Germany and 350% that of Norway.
