I wouldn't call him cheap. I would say he had a lot of respect for a hard earned dollar and made it his mission for his career to make sure the fan got their moneys worth. For that alone he's better than LeBron or any other small forward

that's a fresh one to me...I also think the one where he fakes out Brad Daugherty and gets him airborne[gets him a bird?] and smacks Daugherty on the ass with the ball as he goes by before sinking a 3 is also one of the rarer ones...Brad told that one himself

You know what. I never like Danny, ever. For a three sport all American and National collage player of the year he sucked. Boston should have traded his ass in 85 if not sooner. For him to be a dud, you’d think he at the very least would be loyal. He IS a trader. “F” that whinny punk!

@@Rottidog68 I think he was referring to Danny saying that if he was GM during the late 80's that he would have traded Bird, McHale, and Parrish for players or picks or both. He ruined his back, altering and shortening his career forever, doing menial labor [either roofing or shoveling gravel, I forget], or there would be no Larry vs LeBron argument....Larry from about 84 - 88 eats Lebron's lunch, all day, every day risking a multimillion dollar body doing 10 buck an hour work yourself is CHEAPNESS SQUARED...Larry grew up dirt poor. It's like that sometimes. Personalities don't change with the bankroll[Larry was the highest paid rookie ever when he first signed with the Celts]

PorkFrog the problem is when you are measuring these 2 two greats one of Lebrons greatest strengths up to this point is his longevity. The argument could be made that he is still getting better.
@phillipcarpenterjr1576
@phillipcarpenterjr1576 3 жыл бұрын
@@scottgibbs7235 that's a debate that is mute. Lebron came straight from high school. Larry Bird played his college years. Speaking of college years, look up Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's UCLA stats and awards. Michael Jordan was barely played when he was at North Carolina. Even before his(I believe) ankle injury. Dean Smith missed the mark on that one. James Worthy played at Chapel Hill some of those years. It's perspective. Basketball players who played college vs. Lebron James, who came in without college experience at all. So, Lebron's longevity was from being an 18 yr old first year player.
