I think one of the biggest reasons you inspire and begin to motivate (so difficult since I’m afraid) me to make zines is that I am so amazed and impressed by how freely you express yourself in your zines. It’s a reminder to me that people who do a thing get better at doing the thing and it flows more. I’m not sure I’m making as much sense as I want to, but this video just really made it especially prominent for me. Thank you for sharing what you do, in general and also because it’s really helping me right now especially. I’ve been watching for over a year off and on, but right now I’m going through a stage of figuring some things out, and it’s just hitting differently.

This is so sweet, thank you for taking the time to write this. It means a lot 🥹 Keep making those zines, you've got this…the more you do it the easier it gets and you enter that flow state forsure. That’s a great way to describe it.

How do you stay so creatively motivated? I love every idea you have it’s so original and personal! I haven’t made a zine in like 3 months because of my creative burnout. Would love to know how you keep going! Keep it up, I love your videos 🫶🏻
@brattyxbre11 күн бұрын
I keep a notebook on me to write down all my ideas, then sort of make “deadlines” for myself to execute them. I am also a very intuitive zine maker and can freestyle after many years of practice. Don’t be too hard on yourself as you make zines and you’ll find that flow state in your own time. Also, breaks are good! I sometimes take months off, too, and will shift my focus to other art projects or hobbies. I find taking a break from zine making inevitably helps my process. I think resting is so underrated sometimes (speaking as someone who used to burn out constantly and learned my lesson) ✨✏️

so cool!! I’ve mainly been making zines with pen and paper bc it’s simple and I like to doodle and write but I’m excited to do more crafty zines like your December one, I have a magazine lying in my bookshelf so I’m definitely making use of that soon 😇

you don’t even know how helpful that zine guide from april/may has been for me! i’ve been looking to buy a printer and that was a really good starting point! i think maybe you’ve said this in other videos, but what weight paper do you use for your epson 4800? that’s probably what i will be getting and i want it thick enough to not ghost through but it looks like that printer can’t really handle too thick of paper according to epson’s website

I love your videos! They’ve inspired me to create my own zines but I don’t have any local communities to share with. Any advice on where to share zines online? ❤️❤️
@brattyxbre10 күн бұрын
I found community online through Instagram and TikTok by posting with the #zine hashtags. There is also “ZineTok” which is where I got my start just sharing my zines. I’m not part of this, but I also know there are Reddit threads for zine makers! You can also join my zine club on Patreon for free and there is a “community” tab to share zines. We also have a discord server with 300+ members who set up trades, give feedback, and share resources 💡

Thank you so much! This medium really is a great outlet for personal expression. What I love most is how flexible zines are…they can share information/important resources for the community or be as silly as a fanzine about a baby hippo in Thailand - anything goes! 🖍️✨
